Lliga | Round 31: Málaga CF - FC Barcelona 2-0

Horatio

You're welcome
one more thing: a good coach prepares his players for the referee. He tells them that there is ZERO TOLERANCE for bad behavior with certain referees known to make life difficult for Barça. Why did Neymar get a yellow card that was completely unnecessary?

I know hating on Lucho is the cool thing to do nowadays, but this is a bit silly. Only Neymar should be held responsible for that second yellow. If Neymar does something like that out of frustration after already having picked up yellow then no coach could have prevented it, except by maybe subbing him preemptively.

Edit: DonAK ninja'd me.

I felt sorry for Masch, trying to play as attacking fullback in the first half.

Rotation was required, but this squad is not deep enough to rotate this much. Masch at FB, Mathieu, Gomes, D. Suarez and Paco: none were ready to contribute, all were outclassed by Malaga.

Barca needs a much, much better bench. A different coach may be more successful developing the subs, but coaching has not caused this lack of quality depth.

This game show why Real Madrid is leading the league: Our depth in the squad is still laughable. Sure first-sub Gomes couldn't get into most other La Liga teams, Denis underperforms time after time, Paco is not an impact-sub and Mathieu ends up costing a goal. Meanwhile RM can bring James/Isco/Asensio/Morata who are all too good to be on the bench, and who wins games, while first-sub in defence Nacho has been stable.

After this unexcusable and shameful defeat, we should give up Liga now, and focus our remaining energy on UCL. Sad but true.

With such play I am feared what UCL chances Barça realy has. It is Malaga that payed us a lesson. Imagine Bayern that yesterday crushed Borussia 4:1.

We struggled more against poor teams so I see it more as a motivational problem. Hopefully this loss will motivate the team to be up for it in Torino next week.

You are already thinking about semi finals and Bayern? I think these next weeks you will be surprised, i dont see any other outcome than Juve qualifies to semi finals

:umtitol: still has his 100% winning record in Liga right?

If so, it's going to be his streak vs. Lord Gomes'. Unstoppable force vs. immovable object. Let's see which one triumphs!

Looks like the Gomes stink bomb is too much even for :umtitol: to handle

Yeah, he's a total genius. Instead of starting with the best and getting a lead and subbing them off, he reverts back to a 4-3-3, starts the worst possible midfield and Mascherano as RB, then runs his players to the ground trying to turn it around later.

Happened so many times this season you'd think he'd learn, but obviously not.

That's how it is. It is not about single players like Gomes or Denis, it is about stupid formation/tactics. You can't start with a back 4 like this. In midfield you should start at least Iniesta and Busquets when Gomes and Denis are your options. It is okay to play one of these two with Iniesta and Busquets, but you can't expect that these two will create something special given their last performances. This midfield didn't work in the last loss vs. Depor. There was a big chance to come back in La Liga and this line-up is the answer of the coaching staff?

Spanish referees are either biased or simply incompetent. Certainly among the worst in the top 5 leagues in Europe.

Referees can have bad days, but out of all the referees in Spain, only two, arguably three hold a decent level. Rest are consistently trash.

ok but in that action it's not question to be a good or bad referee ..... it matters about being sane or blind, or honest ot not

Couldnt agree more. We cant really rotate, because the "rotation-players" we bought are simply crap!

That's it. rm own the refs. Whenever they see a chance, they deny Barça anything. It wasn't even the first time this season.
