Only seen him against Utd, but the way he stepped into midfield was very impressive. Did some good things defensively too.

All of 'our (Dutch)' CB do that, it's the way 'we' want to dictate the build-up play. Pretty much the same as Piqué and Bartra were doing at Barcelona. Those rushes are very useful to break up the oppponents midfield. Defensively he's a bit shaky at times, just like Piqué. He needs a ball-winning powerful centre back next to him. Yerry Mina could be a very good partner for him.

Very talented and one of the most potential defenders and just 17 years old
Hope we can sign him with Dollberg

Perfect replacement for Pique

Cant say im worried on RMs behalf, if Barca is going to replace their aging defenders with Ajax defenders.
They were pretty shit at defending against a team from Norway, wonder how they would cope with la ligas top attackers...

Lol, give him time, he's just 18. He's one for the future, but needs a steady growth and a good partner. Maybe in 3 years, if he's progressed well, he might be a viable option.

Get this guy along with Dollberg, Gortzeka, Dahoud, Pulisic and this kind of players, we can build team for the future if we have better scouting team to scout these players before their prices increase

Yes and we can convince them to sit on the bench and never play too.

Nope, we need finished products or close to one with potential. He needs to play for his development, Ajax or team like those are perfect for him.

He's still young and will improve. Nobody is saying that he could walk into our lineup now but he could develop into Barça (starting) quality CB in a few years. But it's not like our future depends on him. If this kid or any other of Ajax talents will end up with us then great as I would like to establish Barça-Ajax connections again like we once had.*

If he won't develop as expected or he'll sign for another club then it won't be the end of the world. We already have Umtiti who will hopefully stay here for years. Mina is coming next season and he also seems good but will have to prove himself in Europe. Marlon is also talented and with more experience he could have a longterm future in Barça. And then we have talented CBs in B team like Bueno and Cuenca, possibly even Tarin though I'm affraid that injury has stalled his development and he won't make it here. We were also connected to a lot of young French CBs over the past year and some of them are still in smaller clubs so we can eventually get them cheaper. So if there is one thing about Robert that most of us probably agree on is that he seems to have an eye for CBs (remember he also wanted to buy Davinson Sanchez last summer but he rejected us). But it's possible that Robert will leave soon (either together with the board or as their scapegoat if they stay and things go wrong again) and whoever our next SD will be will again have troubles to find and buy the right CBs like Zubi and Txiki (with exception of Pique of course) before him.

*I don't follow Ajax as close as I did in the past but I know they always have good talent who plays in a similar system to ours so buying 1 or 2 of them every few years wouldn't be bad. And we could also send them our youngsters on loan/sell them with buy back option. Or if we sell them permanently we could include higher % of future fee because they can sell much better than us.

MD claims we made an offer for De Ligt and hope to tie up a transfer in January for the Summer.

Yeah out of the two he was the most composed one in that final.

Only 18 years old as well so he has plenty of time to get better.
