thats like 13 behind top 10 of all time. But he was also really bad in early stages of career.

even ronaldo has more

He had other more experienced and established players, especially Ronaldinho and Xavi, in front of him in the pecking order for years, so he probably didn't put much effort in improving his technique as he barely got to take one. Ronaldo on the other hand had his stupid pose before shooting in the wall that allowed him to take every single free kick for flashy marketing reasons.

Does anyone know if ronaldo has really achieved 600 club goals ?
I see in wiki he is 595 goals, but as i count myself, wiki seems to have missed the 5 goals he scored in sporting (and there's no such article as, ronaldo reach 600th club goals, too.

If he is really officially on 595, then messi has a chance to be ahead for the 600th goal, being only the 2nd player to score that much of goal for one single club.

CR has 597 with Messi 593 according to http://messivsronaldo.net/all-time-stats/

That might be true, but can't really be proven or you can say that about many players, fact is messi was q quiet poor free kick taker, and Ronaldo was an absolute beast taking free kicks in his first half of his career. And his free kick were beautiful as they get imo - screamers. Has become shit (due to age?? how?) since then and for a long time now.

Well anyway, Messi is a decent free kick taker all in all. I wouldn't say he is a specialist like ronaldo in early days (not overall), but he is just behind the best (and that won't change) same with ronaldo. )No players shoot as many free kicks as messi and especially ronaldo)

Okay, then according to that website, its only four goals difference.
Who knows, messi could even outrun ronaldo with his current shape, being 2 years 4 month younger.

I think Messi will retire before Ronaldo does. Ronaldo is just too obsessed with records and legacy that he would not allow himself retire before he has better numbers than Messi.

Well Messi is maybe not physical able to play till his late 30's also - its not only about mentality.

But yes, i can see Ronaldo keep playing till mid 40's. Juve till 37-38. PSG 38-41. States: 41-43/45.

Well Messi already barely runs and isn't really about outrunning defenders so he should also be able to play at a high level at least until mid 30s. I mean he'll turn 32 this summer and this season is almost up there with his best when it comes to numbers so i don't think he will fall off that hard in the next 1-2 seasons.

He will probably still retire earlier tho just because i could see Ronaldo playing in Europe until he is like 38 or something unless he is stopped by a major injury and idk if Messi wants to keep going for that long.

says it's not messi goal for marca and will not be counted for pichichi and golden boot.

The European Golden shoe follows the official goal numbers (those recognised by the league), look at 2010-11 where Ronaldo won the golden boot with 40 goals yet Marca gave him 41.
The pichichi is marca's own award so i guess they do as they want with that.

No Way he goes to the states with a **** case hanging over his head there, even PSG is somewhat doubtfull, a premier league return might be more likely.

There is no logic here. If Ronaldo was a specialist in the first half of his career then by your rationale Messi is a specialist now.

Here is Ronaldo numbers by season.
1 1 1 1 5 5 6 7 6 3 6 2 3 4 2 0 total 53

Here is Messi
0 0 0 0 1 2 1 3 6 4 2 9 5 7 6 total 46

Ronaldo best 7 year span 5567636 total 38
Messi best 7 year span 6429576 total 39

In my opinion neither of them is with the elite free kick takers.
