Useless today.

Losing balls left and right.

Thank God someone wrote this.

Last time I wrote something like that folks attacked me that I am a Raki fan.

Sergi Roberto is not first 11 team level. He is 18 players squad. But he is lacking that cut to be first lineup man. He is a jack of al ltrades just to lack top notch in any.

Exactly. Fine as a bench option, but should never be in Gala XI.

Making stupid, unnecessary fouls now.

I cannot believe how bad his headers are, guy isn't short, he isn't built like Puig, but every time the ball is in the air, he isn't looking where he is heading and it's always a giveaway. Then add his pathetic defending, slow pace, he has been our main RB last 3 seasons, the fuck happened to this club.

What happened to his good runs? I don't see what he brings from defense anymore. He used to be much better. The whole team is getting worse under Valverde. What is happening to this team?!?!?!

he had a decent year and a half for a player that has limited skill. remember james milner of liverpool played in a team that schooled messi's team therefore it is possible with a hard working , club loving player like sergio roberto to fit in somewhere.

He's not a good enough RB to be a starter for any top team.

Just because he can shit out an assist every now and then doesn't make him good enough. People hang on to him because "He can build the ball out the back" well great doesn't make him good enough for this team other than being a sub-option.

This lad used to be the pride and joy of the average knee jerk Cruyffista.

Now he is one of the more hated players on the team both on this forum and Twitter.

Not surprised in the least though. He's getting older, isn't fast and is blocking the fan favourite Semedo.

It's a shame since he had all the attributes to remain one of the most liked players in the squad, but it's probably my fault for expecting critical thinking from the modern Messi/Pep bandwagon Barca fan. At least the local Catalan diehards still adore him, they know the players that truly bleed the blaugrana.

People shouldn't hate Roberto, they should hate Valverde and/or the board. It's not Robertos fault he isn't a world class RB. He's not even a real defender to begin with and he'll never be as fast as someone like Alba so he will always be limited to a certain degree and that includes catching up with speedy wingers what was obvious vs Mane for example. Up to the coach to pick the right options for every match and up to the board & coach to decide if Semedo+Roberto is good enough.

Solid option for multiple positions, but not a world class specialist on any of them.

Regarding Roberto vs Semedo, as one user posted, Cruijff sad: if you have two ewually good players on the same position, always pick a La Masia guy.

When Rijkaard came, he sold all players and kept only La Masia guys: Valdes, Puyol, Oleguer, Gabri, Motta, Xavi, Iniesta.
We surely had better players than Gabri and Oleguer.
And those players were sold.
But La Masia guys=always stay.

Pep sold Ronaldinho, Deco, Etoo, Gudi, Yaya, Henry, Edmilson, Thuram, Zambrotta.
But kept Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Valdes and promoted even new La Masia players.

I remember a lot of foreign players saying in interviews in the past regarding playing in England or Germany: you, as a foreign player, always need to be at least 20% better than a domestic player.
ONLY THEN you will earn your starting spot.
If you are equal, in 90% of cases a club will opt for a domestic guy.

So, if Roberto and Semedo are both meh, it is not a huge surprise that a club will play and keep a domestic guy.
That happens in majority of clubs all over the world.

It is what it is.
