Brilliant game, amazing confidence. He is every bit as mature and developed as Munir, ready to take on the first team challenge. It's unusual to bring up a player so quickly but one has to remember that the B team is a stepping stone and if he's ready to leap over it then no reason to hold him back. Much more of a chance to learn and grow when playing with the seniors and vets.
Also, Samper represents a massive victory for the club's cantera philosophy. To be a born and bred Blaugrana from the very beginning to this level is a massive achievement. Samper represents Barcelona more than any other player that isn't Xavi/Iniesta/Messi/etc. Great to have him and hoping he can flourish.

Awesome game from the next maestro. His calmness and confidence on the ball at that age is something I haven't seen since the promotion of Busquets in 08/09. Only thing I didn't like about him was that one Apoel attack where they had 3 attackers vs 2 of our defenders and Samper seemed to be just jogging around and not helping our line. He has the skills but at the moment lacks the discipline to play DM. Would like to see him playing a bit further up the pitch with Busi in the holding role.

Man how do you feel after such a debut? Playing in every youth team, watching Ronnie, Larsson, Eto'o, Henry, Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta, Busquets, Leo etc. all those years and admiring the 1st team while visiting La Masia every day.

And to debut along side Xavi wearing the armband in the CL. Special day for him and his family.
Great performance from him. Even if we have to resort to using a 3 man back line, we absolutely must find a way to fit him into the first team while Busquets is still here. Imagine having Samper and Busquets playing at the same time. Not as flashy as Neymar Messi but far, far more exciting imo.
