Hopefully we can avoid Liverpool and City in the next round. Think Juve is a 50/50. And everyone else we should be able to ease past.

According to me, City and Juve should be avoided, and Liverpool is easy prey, Real Madrid beat them as children, and they were stronger.

First in LaLiga again
Copa final again
Five goals and a moments of great football in CL

But in this forum only laments and criticism...unbelievable!

Last year all appeared to be roses and tulipes and happened what we know. Internally Barça has been superb. Impressive domination. In europe Barças has a lot to prove. Three consecutives eliminations in the 1/8 is not a coincidence.

Yes, I agree...
anyway each season is different.
We can go on or go home.
It's the CL.

Arthur's Stats against Lyon:
Passes: 71 (98.6%)
Key Passes: 1
Big Chances Created: 1
Duels (Won): 4(3)
Was Fouled: 1
Tackles Won: 1(1)
Messi:"We have suffered a bit when it 2-1 but with our third goal everything calmed down. When we had the ball, we saw our best version." "Cristiano was impressive yesterday, a big surprise because I thought that Atlético was going to have more strength, Juve ran over them and Cristiano had a magical night with three goals." "City and Juve are very good, Ajax is a team with young players... Any team will make things complicated for us, we have to prepare for the hardest, that is what is coming now."

Just got back from the game. Glad we got a big score at the end, the Lyon away fans were absolutely disgusting. They were throwing stuff at us across their barrier all evening long, and were being super obnoxious and cocky (which I can still accept); including chucking drinks across.

We gave them a good sending off with an Au Revoir Lyon chant after the 5th :D

On the game - As usual, after a good half, Valverde sets the team up to sit back and defend..It's clear that he's not going to change, and any better team would have scored more during those opening moments of the second half. We are pathetic at sitting back and defending.

I thought Messi had a poor first half and a poor start to the second half, until he suddenly got some good moments in. Having said that, I still wouldn't say this was his one of his really great nights (aside from the 2 goals and 2 assists ) as his movement just wasn't there. He looked pretty disinterested for much of the game - like we often see in La Liga. I'm not sure if his body has just about given up at this point, because there's no other way somebody can constantly look that lazy, especially someone like Messi.

Arthur was great but as usual, Valverde makes the time and tested Vidal for Arthur sub. Suarez had the best half of the season in the first half, IMO.

This season, I'm completely fine with us fluking and lucking our way to the final, where anything can happen.

Very good first half. We created a good few chances when they were defending very deep. Didn't like from minute 50 to 70 though. Thought we sat back a bit too much. Need to keep teams pinned in their half for longer periods. Their goal was a bit of a mess bar the finish though. Messi doing it again and Suarez looking sharp which is great.

Football sometimes is like rock, scissor or paper. Or pokemon (water, fire and grass), if you want.
That said,
lets rank opponents from Barça point of view:

Liverpool rank S
Barça is to Liverpool the same as bulbasaur to charmander. A night in Anfield could be a nightmare.

Juventus rank S
Solid team + Ronaldo
They defeated Barça 3-0 in Turim 2 years ago. Barça squad is better, but they have CR now. They conciliate physicality(Chielini, Ronaldo,...) , goals(Ronaldo) and talent(Pjanic, Dybala). Their game seems static, but it is effective. Srong contender to the title.

City A
City performs very well in premier league, but has had bad nights in cl, similar to Barça. Their style suits Barça well, but this year could be different, who knows.

Tottenham B+
We beat them in group stages (solid performance away from home), but that means nothing, bc ko stage is different.

United B
I havent seen much games from them, but Solskaer effect have been liberating. They dont scare much, but precaution. I think they are same level of difficulty as Chelsea last year in 1/16.

Ajax B ( could be more)
To me, they played the most atractive football in the competition. Their squad isnt exactly City, so it will depend if crucial players are suspended or not. Little changes in teams with less resources have tremendous impact. Lets hope they continue strong.

Porto B
Brahimi, Marega and Danilo are back, but Barça should go through.

Its been a long time since we see this kind of domination from Epl. Hopefully, we could go pass them.
The chance of meeting with liverpool or city is high. I prefer meeting city tbh.

United flukes past PSG and now PL is dominating. City, Liverpool and Tottenham did well but let's be honest, Germany league is shit this season..

Hope we get lucky and draw either Ajax or Porto.

Honestly I am not sure if we can put up with Ajax's energetic and ecstatic attacking play. Really impressed by their two games against Real Madrid. They gave Bayern a hard time too.

For me I'd like us to get Porto or Spurs.
