I see no point in extending him. He won't play more than 5-10 games per season. Maybe if its somehow connected to ffp, then it makes sense, but even then, only on really low wages, or even better on a contract dependant on his playing time.
Won't be hard to find a replacement when Eric Garcia is much better than him.
He helped the team, and thank him for that, but now he is simply not good enough for the next step. Cash in while he is still worth something.
Everything he touches turns to shit. Every player he simps for becomes a bum.
As soon as he showed his real face and openly hated Barca, we recovered and started winning titles again.
Van de Ven has lead his team to consecutive 17th place finishes in the league, barely avoiding relegation. He wouldn't be an improvement in any way to our current CBs.
Even if we are back to 1:1 and can spend more money, it would be smart to sell Olmo for big money to cover the costs of Gordon, and getting Bernardo as his direct replacement on a free.
Maybe the club will cash in on Raphinha. This could be a smart move, getting the replacement before other clubs know we have the money.
But we were always going to overspend on any player. There is no one that could be realistic for under 100 mil that would be an instant upgrade in the attack.
