10 - Lamine Yamal

If there were risks involved reckon they’d have more issues dealing with Yamal than de la Fuente.

Missed 10 matches and played with pubalgia and still POTS in La Liga

16 goals is pretty good. Reckon if no injuries he would hit 20 maybe even past that. Considering goalscoring is not his main job too that's an insane feat

it’s funny to look back now how concerned people were about him around Christmas. It was clear he was still suffering from pubalgia.

Clearly the best player in the world when he is 100%.

Yeah, in this gen even young version of Yamal is the best in the world. Even players with limited talent like Raphinha inserted themselves in top 5-10.

In other eras Raphinha doesn't even break top 20.

If Yamal is smart he can end up with a ridiculous career. Spain are WC favorites. Imagine if Lamine ends up mvp and wins both Euro and WC at 19. Lol.

Seems like the recovery is going well. I saw de la Fuente commenting he might even make it to the opening game. Hopefully he isn’t getting rushed.

Thing that struck me is them talking about La Grada there I think and how it is a struggle when that stand is empty.

Ridiculous that it came to that to be honest and by far the worst decision Laporta has ever made as president of the club.

One of his biggest priorities this summer should be filling that Singing Stand in most games, as the Florentino backed mob do at the piggery.

Really a terrible look when you see open seats there in such a small stand of 1,200 people. Better to give them away for free as long as fans are guaranteed to make noise.

Surprised me that he is the first Catalan to ever win La Liga POTS

Thought someone from old Barca teams has won it. But yeah , Franco...

Reminds me of when Messi won the Player of the Season and they made up an award named La Liga MVP which they gave to Cristiano.

An award they have only awarded once it seems.

How is that even possible, when Messi was being awarded the MVP of the whole world 8 times, while likes of Xaviesta were in podium along him?
edit: oh, they mean catalan. But hen the later two should be at least few times. And Lamine doesn't qualify, sorry. I'm more "catalan" than him.

He was born and raised in Catalonia. It's true he doesn't really have to do anything with the region genetically, but he has the Catalan spirit embodied within him.

This is the different from the French players who in some cases weren't even born or raised in France, or they lived in migrant neighborhoods that have nothing to do with French culture. They are not "French", in any sense of the word.

But even they earn the right to call themselves French in today's world. So we absolutely have the right to call Lamine, who was born and raised and grew up there, a Catalan.

I will concede that Lamine may be spiritually catalan, if he's genuinely assimilated and aligned within the tribe and thinks of himself as part of that culture. It's just my general sentiment that using inherently ethnic descriptive and then accepting anybody in is maliciously misleading (typical parasite tactic). If you call yourself this tiny sub-ethnos, you must be it ancestrally by blood and communal history, not just happen to live there or eat the cuisine, because boarders are more open than hoes legs and citizenship now days granted like cookies by oppressive imperial antinatalist governments of white nations.

Tons of people in Barcelona don't even speak Spanish let alone Catalan. It is a very migrant-based city, especially in the centre. Most of Barcelona will have Spanish as its first language rather than Catalan. I don't know specifically about Yamal but it wouldn't be a surprise that someone who is born there would speak Spanish over Catalan, although like him, most will speak some level of both.

Because of the very high level of tourism and immigration Barcelona became mostly a city of Castellano (spanish) and English. There is no need to know Catalan there anymore but there is to know Spanish.

In a few neighbourhoods it might be predominately Catalan but in the vast majority of it, it is not, and honestly you will find it hard to only speak Catalan there, as weird as it sounds.

Girona, Olot, Lleida etc have a much higher rate of Catalan speakers and most will speak it in daily life.

Maybe, but the Catalan identity is superficial at best in Barcelona, the vast vast majority of daily life is conducted in Spanish.

There are some neighbourhoods on the outskirts that are more Catalan in identity (rarely). But he is from Rocafonda, which is literally an area built to accommodate immigration from other parts of Spain.

Barcelona now is a very cosmopolitan city, you will find few people who are really wedded to their 'Catalan' identity. I think by way of playing for FC Barcelona there is more connection and feeling involved with the Catalan identity, because FCB is a political symbol as well as a football club. So players want to be more in touch with that.

But this Catalan identity thing as it refers to daily life is much more common in other parts of Catalunya like Girona.

Interesting. Are you catalan by birth Aj? It does seem that any kind of ethnic and racial identity for white people have been systematically diminished from above, so i understand why things you say happen. I personally have gradually become more racist and tribal with every year since i realized that "my kind" of people, the best people, mind you, the people, who created all this civilization, are now methodically erradicated by hostile parasitic entity, whatever it is.

Whatever is the cause of catalan insurgency i don't know. Given than Spain consists or plethora of various sub-etnoses like castilians (madrdistgas), andalusians, barsques, catalans and whoever i don't remember obviously makes this whole conundrum even more complicated.

It's funny and relatable, because even my native country Latvia, which is tiny by both size and population, there are literally 5-6 various sub ethnic populations that behave and talk in their own dialect from each other and are of different temperament.
