Prime Busi was creatively and technically superior to Rodri, but Rodri is a more complete player than Busquets was. Overall, it depends on the midfield structure and available players.

Rodri would have fit just fine instead of Busquets with Xavi and Iniesta, that's for sure.
 
Some of the body feints and dribbles Busquets did in his prime, Rodri couldn't pull off. Not technically gifted enough. But Rodri scored some big goals for City. It's close.

Rodri has a better passing range than Busquets did so I'm not sure about the creativity part. Busquets is definitely a better dribbler and had a better touch though.
 
It's close, largely a matter of preference.

Rodri is more of a leader so in a team like this Spain he fits better than busi would.

But prime busi was so freaking beautiful to watch. The zidane of DM in that sense
 
Prime Busi for Spain was largely fucking hopeless after Iniesta and Xavi left and with Barca was fucking hopeless in a lot of the heavy defeats Barca suffered in CL.

Was good for Barca and Spain when he left and should have moved on from him a lot earlier.

How slow he was was painful when Barca had less domination of ball.

Was one of best DMs ever with Iniesta and Xavi though and like all players top level is what matters and all players need teams that suit them.

Rodri and Busi included.

Spain wouldn't have won without Nico creating space for Ferran. What's your point really? Do we need to get LdF on the mic for that too or should we give Nico the Ballon D'or straight up?
 
Busi was better for Pep's Barca and 2010-2012 Spain, Rodri is better for any other team in the world except those two. Busi's peak was very short and after that he became a big liability and constantly overrun in big matches even though his touches and passes were always class.
