If Flick rates him so much then he should play him in the next matches so he gets comfortable with this level of football

And then next season rotate and compete with Kounde
 
Like this kid a lot. Solid allround player. Used to captain the youth teams, then as CM now as RB.
 
Most likely 2026/27 La Masia breakthrough player. Flick working on the new Kimmich/Lahm.

Watching recent highlights - impressive quick feet.
 
He is such a clutch baller, we need to keep him at all costs and hopefully he can be implemented quickly into the first team on a regular basis.

Would solve most of our right fullback problems to have him as backup and gradually up his playing time and role.

He's a baller, but he leaves a lot to be desired in defense :(
 
What is his position? RB or DM? I really don't want another physically weak DM who will be bullied in CL matches.
 
One of the 3 players Flick named as most impressive of youngsters.

Still does seem a bit too small and weak but let's see how he develops this season.

Certainly a big confidence boost for him from Flick.
 
Would definitely be nice to have at least a decent La-Masia RB backup for this season, so Eric could focus on DM, especially because of Frenkie's injury.
 
Espart trained as a pivot and has been playing as a right-back for three years. This mix explains why Flick compares him to footballers like Philipp Lahm or Joshua Kimmich . He stands out not only for running down the wing, but also for closing down his position, partnering with midfielders and almost always choosing the right option when receiving under pressure.

The coach understands that he can become a different kind of full-back, especially useful when Lamine Yamal remains open and needs a partner to occupy interior spaces. Espart can provide a passing line, help with the breakaway and allow Barça to control the game without adding another midfielder. His performance in England confirmed the confidence built over weeks of training.

Fort and Torrents must look for minutes​

Héctor Fort wanted to stay and had put aside proposals to show that he could compete, but Espart 's growth further reduces his chances. Koundé continues as the starter, Eric Garcia can play on the wing and the youth system has become Flick 's bet . The club will look for a sale or a loan that allows Fort to play regularly.
 
We read identical reports a few years ago with Casado. Not everybody who plays RB and CM is Lahm.
