Gordon, a good signing?

Yeah, but we barely have to counter since all teams sit back. Maybe in CL. Elche was the only one naive enough to have a go at us and paid for it.
If he can deliver one of these in CL it'd be great

That goal completely shifted the momentum for England. He also had a great pass to Oreilly for the second goal

Yeah Gordon has missed chances for Barca. But I’ve seen two games this season where had Yamal rolled the ball across the box 5 yards instead of going for glory, and failing to score both times, Gordon would have a couple of goals by now.

Already been a great Intl break for Gordon, should be coming back with a bounce for Barça - he is in a peak moment in terms of his form & career, even the English are touting him

News to me but apparently player does not use the weight room or lift weights as part of his football training preparation and has the blessing of his clubs - does a lot of other activities instead (including boxing)

Swam in Croatian Adriatic today.

I think quite a lot of players have been moving away from weights where they can. Extra muscle mass affects agility.

I mean how common has it been to go super hard at gym with weights? Likes of Bartra and Eric (early days) were criticized in here for not bulking up.

There's various muscle groups, which can be trained and "bulking" shouldn't ever be a goal unless you're body builder. It's all about functionality, agility, endurance. Hopefully flicks Chadman conditioning coach is well informed on what they should be focused on. It's definitely not direction of Adama Traore, the baby oil smeared chad the builder, who moves like he's in the exoskeleton on the field.

He talked about it in his Overlap interview. Nice that also Barca allowed him to avoid weights as he has his own method that works for him.

Be surprised if Raphi does much weights too. Similar physiology.

Each players individual training, should be that- individual.

Only systematic work should be team training.

Days of archaic chain or weights circuit drills where everyone does 10 reps or squats with 20kg then onto the next drill should be over. I remember seeing some old vide of Iniesta doing it then Ronaldinho back in the Rijkaard days.

There's no way Iniesta and Ronaldinho should be doing the same weights circuit training regimes.

Edit. Autocorrect has serious issues with the word of.

Gordon's body will evolve naturally. Leave it be.
He is not there to wrestle in the PK area but to be Speedy Gonzalez with good vision and improvisation skills - which is the core asset.
After Goretzka - Bayern Munchen - built up his body, he was stronger but lost agility...
Same with Lewandowski before he could show off his biceps, he was much speedier - surely less than 12 seconds on 100 meters, not so much after hours spent in the gym.

Not a current picture, but still the same training probably.

Decent body for a footballer, especially a winger.

I think the best comparison and also warning sign is Gareth Bale. Remember when he showed up with massive arms at Madrid because he wanted to compete with CR?

Never been the same after it and turned into a worse, injury-prone player.

Gordon is a wise guy. Good that the club is with him on his training. He is beating defenders with his speed and a heavy body wouldn't improve him as a player.
