Why should he? He got a couple of minutes with us that weren't really all that great... many other players play week in week out. Also, Sweden will build on hard work and mostly defensive of course a la Atletico. Roony can't offer anything to this Sweden NT - we need muscle, defensive work and experience of which he got 0.

Yeah Flick should have built this new Barca based on Roony lol. Dude are you Roony, or maybe his relative? Wtf are you on about??? He came from Denmark after having an alright season, than injured for a year - and you think Roony's presence should dictate how Flicks sets up the team? Roony got much more minutes than he should have got - now stfu about Roony. We will be lucky if we can get those 2m back for him.

Hansi isolated him after he complained to the press about the prominence of his role. It’s a shame he went down that path knowing what kind of a coach Hansi was.
Despite that, should’ve been trusted more, but Flick struggles in that regard in general.

Yes and I support Flick in this. If you have a problem, you go to Flick's office and talk with him. Building pressure in the press is treacherous in his eyes, because Hansi tries to have a father figure relationship with every player. It was an unacceptable and dumb move from Roony.
Easier said than done when you have a Lamine in your squad. He's the best winger in the world, guarantees you scorer points and is easily offended. A combination that doesn't invite for many rotations. Also Roony didn't show anything when he got the chance to play to get more time in my opinion. He needs to earn it, also in training. We don't know how he trains, but if Flick doesn't give him many chances, then I can imagine it's not very impressive.

I don’t disagree there even though we never know the full story. It’s a mistake, I said as much, but Flick does tend to be rigid where it flies.
Plenty of matches Yamal finished with no real sporting reason behind it. I think it’s a mix of both, Roony being frozen out of the squad due to his comments and Flick refraining from rotating Yamal, but at this point, it shouldn’t be up to Yamal.
I think he showed enough to warrant more time, especially since his chances were sporadic at best.

It's not up to Yamal, but it's somewhere in between. There is the Lucho way: "I decide who and when I sub and if you show public discontent, you won't play anymore". There is also the Flick meets player half way, not being too strict and listen to their wishes as long as they're not disrespecting the squad like arriving too late. And if he has no sporting reason to play Roony, then it's even easier to make Lamine happy. It's not like Flick has only 11-13 players and doesn't look at the rest. Everyone plays, if he's earned it. Best example is Casado. When he played good, he had his starting spot under Flick, before Frenkie even. This season, he barely plays, because he doesn't deserve it with his current form.

Roony has been okay in the minutes he got. Often did more than we expected from him. You are making him look like some absolute disaster and a guy who fumbled everything in every minute he played.

Bilbao game in Supercup, goal and 2 assists. Scored vs Betis in league. Assist in CL vs Olympiacos. He's been great in all these games
