Not seeing any accolades for him. I thought he was the sole reason for Spains attacking threat.

His last injury was now half a year ago. His current performance could also be related to him having trust in his body again. Before he couldn't play 3 months without injury. Let's hope he'll continue this form into the next season.

We can see a lot of uneducated, casual or ignorant fans in many sports - hard for many to look beyond stats to recognize how games are played and Dani along with Pau were the two most elite & consistent performers for Spain in WC. Would probably add Cucurella in there as well who had a particularly superlative performance last night

I think if Fermin would’ve been healthy we probably would’ve seen less of Dani but he was the best midfielder in this WC for La Roja - Rodri was largely inconsistent although he stepped up as I had alluded to prior to kickoff. That someone other than Pau, Lamine & Dani, ideally 2 from Rodri/Pedri/Oyarzabal/Fabian, had to raise their level in order to advance to the Final. And Mikel & Rodri stepped up along with Marc

Midfield is where the match was won which is predictably what sets Spain apart from rest of planet in terms of football - France were never troubled prior to this because they had the ball most of the time. I also think they sacrificed Olise to accomodate Mbappe demanding a free role but the match was already lost in midfield

2026 and Rabiot is still in there??

Ruiz had a poor match for me, he had at least 2 or 3 great chances to create goal scoring opportunities were it not for his heavy passes that failed to connect

Sometime in September/October he'll injure himself for 3 months and then be shit when he returns, we already know how this goes.

Yeah, noticed that too. He is very good in buildup up to the point, but then makes a pass as if ball was kicked by a horse. Would be murdered at Barca for that.

He has poor numbers for a 10. That's why. He does 70% of the job but a 10 is way more prolific on goals and assists.(though if he starts to have the numbers he should win Balon d'ors). There is no such thing as twitter tacticos or any tacticos on YouTube. English is the language of marvel football. The most decent one is Pedro in Spanish that has a great following, but he has no structure to his arguments like Recoba.
There are niche smart people from Spain, better than Pedro, but idiots want marvel not truths.
Now in terms of Marvel the stats matter very much (though superficial ones like total goals regardless of minutes, shots, what types of goals etc, runs is not even a concept for them), but also interviews, skills, clothes. Football is an entertainment so you can't blame anyone, but that's the truth.

Look better coming off the bench against tired players.

Torres scored the goal and had the assist vs Portugal but rest of the tournament was mostly him missing sitters

He was clutch. But not good overall
