He quite literally missed one in the final too. Was marked by a much shorter Licha 5m from goal and headed it straight to Martinez arms.

There is also more examples. I don't know what did you watch if you can't remember. Look it up.

He did miss sitters this world cup. He also scored key goals. Props to him. But reality is reality. In no world was he better than Yamal or Pedri this world cup when you consider everything. Consistent performance is what gives rise to the decisive moments.
 
Played his heart out throughout the tournament and showed some grit when needed. A key figure with Rodri in the midfield.
 
Yeah he showed a lot of physicality at AM and got stuck in as well as being good on ball.

In a midfield/team that can lack that. He and Rodri gave a lot on that side of it.
 
Great tournament. Elite mentality.

The Argentinian shithousery was chicken feed for the guy who played during winter in the Croatian league building steel on his balls of steel.
 
He had a very good season for Barca as did the season before.

18 goals/assists in 2800 odd minutes and a chunk of that being asked to cover for Pedri iwhen out in deeper role.

Been a very good signing.
 
Been telling it all along. He was doubted for 2 years and finally gets deserved recognition.

On the ball, off the ball. He's a great fit for us.
 
I've been Olmo's fan as well as biggest critic since he signed for us, the primary issue being him never being fit.

This WC though, I felt like 99% of his touches were absolute gold. Almost every touch and action was a forward and progressive one and while he had few touches, each one was meaningful. Thought he was the player of the tournament for the first part, but Rodri did step it up in the semis and finals.
 
Why dont we put him as striker ? He can finish, he has top link up play and his off ball movement is pretty good. He could become our Kane.

Don't think he has the attributes for a striker. His finishing isn't his strong suit, he's not quick or strong and his main strength is quick turns and progressive passes so striker would completely negate his strengths and highlight his flaws.

I maintain my position - I think we should have less patience with perennially injured players. Vermaelen, Christenen, Olmo etc. You're a useless player to the club if you're not available. So let's see if olmo can actually give us a meaningful contribution in terms of availability this season.
