24 - Eric García

I was convinced of Eric even after he bolted for City as a 16 year old and trained under Pep for 3 years. Thrilled for him
 
De la Fuente would be stupid not to call him up. Can cover 3 positions plus super motivated.

For him, I hope he gets a call-up but maybe it's not the best for Barca.
 
And I hope we dont make the same mistake we did with Sergi.

I have my share of the blame here too. Used to write RobertoGod on this forum back then.

Anyways, Roberto never should have been a starter. He was at best a .5 option of the bench. But we took him as a starter and never looked for a proper starter. Hampered us quite a bit in the long run.

Same with Eric. If he is a starter, it means we are fucking up. He should be the first option of the bench.

Nah man. He didnt boss it. I distitctly remember thinking if we had Kounde would have been much better.

He is decent as a RB. Will work in LaLiga. But agaisnt bigger opponents in UCL, we will see his shortcoming. To win a UCL we need top fullbacks.
We are doing the same mistake we did with Roberto. Great player. But a backup.

Now if we are getting a talent like Palestra, then I am fine with Eric being a starter for now.

He is good, not great at any position. Imo he's simply not starter material. He's a great squad player to have but simply not good enough to be a starter.
 
A guy you love to have on your team but probably not one you want to count on. I really like him but really shouldn't start unless it's at RB he does better than most there
 
He's obviously a highly dependable player but in a perfect world not your first choice. Barca world ain't perfect though.
 
True, in a perfect world like Barca 15 years ago we have a WC RB, WC CBs and WC DMs while Eric is a backup for all of them. We are very far from the world and Eric is and should be a starter in the current team.

It ain't and we still can't just point at a 80m player for RB and sign him when we need a 9 and some other players. But just buy at least a decent backup to give Garcia some competition, somebody like Dumfries if we could get him for about 15m - or Mingueza or Ratiu for cheap...
