3 - Alejandro Balde

Benfica presented an offer of 20 'kilos' that was instantly rejected by Joan Laporta and Deco, and they have withdrawn from the negotiation. And the same has happened with Manchester United, who seemed to be his main admirer, but who do not come close to the figure demanded by Barça. In fact, the idea of the English team was to take him on loan, with an option to buy.

Article says Laporte, Lukeba, Ignacio (in that order) would be our targeted signings if Balde is moved out, but only if he is moved out.

Dunce983 on period again. And for what? To defend this lazy single footed fool, who has learned fuck all in attacking phase and has become much slower than in first couple seasons, so basically lost his only real "skill" cuz he can't tackle for shit. Flick does the right thing to put these young divas in place. And he does it gracefully unlike dunses beloved Xavi, who just screamed like mad bonobo from sidelines whenever somebody underperformed.

Flick trying to setup a redemption arch for balde where he is the protagonist lol.

See how well he's playing now I did this.

What else can Flick do?

He has been honest with him and said not doing enough and can leave. If he wants to stay and fight he can.

Players often need a kick up the are to realise what is at stake.

Yeah, all of this was probably just Flick trying to wake him up a little.

Flick has done his part of the job. Now if Balde doesn't respond, I assume they will be serious about the sale.

Because they could have pushed Balde out in this window, if they really wanted.

United trying to play hardball with us and we act cool - that's alright, cough up at least 35m or gtfo.
But I'd love Lukeba over Balde - Balde will never take the next step, he can only be backup and if our starter gets injured I'd worry he'd offer nada in an important CL match.

Apparently decided to stay. Sad.

Also likely means no top club wanted him or his salary.
Balde did not want to go.
UTD wanted him, and his salary is peanuts.
I am sure Mendez could find him more options as well.

United wanted him on loan, beside them there was no other club from the reporting that's been credible...

I am fine with him staying, at worst he's a decent backup for Cancelo.

I am more annoyed with our RB situaition. Eric wont cut in the UCL.

Hoping for Kounde to perform after the kick up his ass by Flick.

Don't really care if he stays or not. He is good enough to be backup but it's a shame if we lose on Salinas and/or Lukeba because of him staying.

Lot of camera clips of Balde's reactions during/after match, he had to be thinking perhaps an exit is the smart play considering both Xavi & Cancelo are ahead of him and there's a good debate that Pesquer is as well

Late exit still possible I wonder?

Espart had a great game yesterday as a psuedo inverted LM coming in as the third midfielder but it's not a long term solution surely.

We are not going to go with a back three often. Even Joey Cancel was on the bench for yesterday's tactical setup.

Balde will get chances if he stays, but going on loan and bringing in another LCB will probably help us more this season. While also giving him a chance to get his confidence back in a more basic form of football.
