6 - Gavi

Turns 22 today. Big season coming up for him. Priority is to optimize his fitness and settle into a role to keep growing and cementing a spot. He was atrocious at WC so he has a lot to prove. Good opportunity now with Frenkie out.

I don't know why he's not training, he had vacation for most of the last 2-3 years and didn't play shit at WC.

A man of his word.
Frenkie would promise to tip a waiter $20 and chicken out because it's too expensive.
You a millionaire bitch

Looks like a lesbian.

Nothing wrong with that but he does.

Anything for attention... just never for what does with ball at feet.

Is there a single thing he's saying or doing that isn't for the camera in some way?

He needs to focus on his football. Seems like he's losing the thread and doing some media content every other day.

I remember he was a quiet humble guy when he came through. I said it earlier in this thread, but the fame has really gone to his head.

Bastardised what was nice hair to get a few splashes in the papers.

I saw an interview from him a few weeks ago (amongst the 10 or 20 interviews he did over the past couple months) where he's mentioning how he would never go out with his teammates and nobody wants to go out with him because of how paranoid he is about people filming him or something.

He really is a strange cookie.

With how much time he spends in front of the camera lately, I find that hard to believe

More like he’s paranoid people would film someone other than him.

Gavi is a B2B midfielder, he is very good at that. I don't think at this point he can evolve into something else. The issue is we don't really need one in 80% of our games where we dominate possession. But against the strongest opponents where we fight for possession all the time, he can be vital.
A short, slow and weak player who is easily pushed off the ball doesn't fit the profile for a good box 2 box player though. This is the problem I've always had with Gavi. He has never excelled at a specific role, and he hasn't grown or improved the last 3 years to prove otherwise either. Injuries of course played a role. He's not a strong CM, def not an AM and he isn't a DM either. We've played him at LW too and he's absolutely useless there. AM is maybe his strongest position in the end, but we have several players that are leaps and bounds better than him there.

He's got the heart, but that's just not enough. He needs to improve dramatically in several areas before being worthy of playing in any of the midfield positions mentioned previously, and he's not a b2b as much as some would like him to be.
