That's the plan. But we need to change a bit how we play. You don't ask 30 year old Rodri to press on the entire field like he's possessed. Remains to be seen what Flick will do with Rodri, if he knows how to use him or not. Think his impact is gonna be felt instantly.

What a season Pedri is going to have. It is going to be absolutely beautiful to watch him this season with all the freedom he will have. Good to see he is in form and ready to start the WC winning partnership at club level too.

It still doesn't feel like he's close to his prime. He can go up a couple of levels.

Being one of the best midfielders itw aside, the vibe I pick up from Pedri is that he's a very loyal person. He's at the best club in the world, earning more money than most could ever dream of earning, and if a plasta club like PSG ever came knocking on the door with an offer most couldn't refuse, I wager he'd reject it. He just strikes me as a wise and loyal man.

He’s a top midfielder, but I think he hogs the ball way too much sometimes. He needs to release it quicker.
Instead of progressing the ball quickly in transitions, he does his little twists and turns while the opposition defense gets time to settle.
No wonder he ended up getting benched at the World Cup.

Agree about the hogging. He's also rather soft. Raises and flails arms whenever he gets pushed around.

Don't know why algo dropped this at me tonight, because i thought i already watched it some time ago as i like this tuber, but seems i didn't. The essay is not just about Pedri, but very essence of todays football and why guys like Pedri is so special. Think he should really open up even more this season not just due to potential partnership with Rodri, but even more so due to much faster, younger and physical team that would associate with his unpredictable impro playing better than old man Lewy or concrete feet Shark. Add likes of Cancelo, Espart and there's just more players he can ping pong off of than with bunch of static cones that we sometimes have to deal with. Also good assessment of modern PL there.
