We hardly take punts outside of our comfort zone(spanish/la masia product). Linked only to some evident targets that are overrated and overpriced.

Bastoni ain't it for the money touted.

I think he was fine. Last year in Ange's team, he was actually doing well. On top they were playing high line, so I thnk he should be used to our ways.
Ariel challenge might not be his strong suit, but in LaLiga we dont really need that much. We will do fine. He's tall so that should help a lot.
Injury yes, he is a bit injury prone. But this year he hasnt been injured at all, so I am hoping this will continue. Plus this aspect might help reduce his transfer fees.

80m+. If thats the case, then its a hard no. There isnt a CB worth paying that much for. I am hoping more on the line of 50m if they get relegated. If they dont, then yes, Spurs will ask for 80m+ and we shouldnt go for him.
 
Too bad Lisandro Martinez and Christian Romero are always one stupid decision away from a red card. Would like to have them to back our young boys up.

Bastoni should practice with Usain Bolt in the summer, our suicide/offside trap is no joke.
 
Both Bastoni and Van de Ven have strengths and weaknesses as any other players and unfortunately neither of them is perfect for ur style of play. However, speed shouldn't be the only thing that matters. Araujo is really fast and he is still a liability. In contrast Pique wasn't fast at all but he had high footballing IQ and his skills and positioning were world class. I believe that in the end Deco will make a good decision.

Pique was lowkey pretty quick, he just didnt appear to be due to his height. He kept up with some very fast players.

Piqué was not slow. That's a revisionist take. It's just that he was really tall, so when he ran, he looked like a giraffe. 😆

Ya, if Pique played against Madrid every game instead of mid table LaLiga teams, he would have been the GOAT CB, no questions asked.

MF only had one weakness, and its not your usual one. Lol.
 
Catalan media speculates with these swap deals every year and they almost never happen. Lieporta will either have to come up with 60 something millions or we won't get Bastoni. Which would probably be for the best as I'm unsure about his fit. Especially with this price we just can't miss. And I also don't think new signings will solve defensive problems anyway. You can put prime Maldini or Beckenbauer in this system and they will struggle.
 
In absence of anything, Catalan media are now reporting the "news" of Barca negotiating with Bastoni. Not Inter Milan. Bastoni.
 
We always do this.

We need to be 100% he wants to come here* before we start to talk with Inter. You don't waste two months to negotiate with his club and then find out that Bastoni wants 12m/year and we are only willing to pay him 6m so both sides will never reach a deal. I'm just pulling these numbers out of my ass, I have no idea what his real demands are or what our offer is but they are probably closer together than in my example.

* and I mean he wants to come only here, not just to leave Inter for any club; this probably also means he would accept to wait for us until August (or another date they'll negotiate) to give the club time to deal with our financial situation and La Liga cap rules.

And then if we'll have a personal agreement with him we'll probably also use some dirty tactics like him putting pressure on Inter to let him leave for a few millions less. Not the most right or ethical (not that there is any ethic left in football) way to do transfers but other clubs are pulling shiet like this as well.

And sometimes (doubt this is the case here) clubs also accept that players want to leave and allow them/their agents to negotiate with other clubs before actually reaching a club to club deal. But ofc this can put them in a worse position during negotiations as they can't use other clubs offers as leverage if a player only wants to join a specific team.
 
This was the plan from last summer in anticipation of achieving 1:1, begin the links to player in March and conclude the deal ahead of June with upcoming WC. With the league title not yet clinched, no deal is going to be consummated to distract from task at hand - hence why you read that all that is really missing on player & Barça is Flick's ok

Moreover, while Oaktree is a distressed debt fund that needs to sell assets the club knows this was going to have to go step by step. I am certain terms are clearly agreed between Barça & player and from there negotiations won't accelerate between clubs until title is clinched

But make no mistake, there is no Tebas to interfere like he did last season with Nico - Bastoni will be wearing blaugrana, bookmark it

The point is the Nico situation when they didn't agree with Nico the clause what happens IF they can't register him and it made the potential transfer fall apart. They should agree what happens in that case with every transfer target because sooner or later serious players will want guarantees and I don't think Laporta will be able to give them.

There are some footballers who have nudes of their manager. There are a very select few, who have nudes not only of their manager but of TV producers as well.

And then there is Alessandro Bastoni WHO HAS NUDES OF EVERY MOFO ON THE PLANET.

Somehow, he had managed to scam EVERYONE into thinking he is world class. And all this on the back of regular mediocre performances for club and country, whilst being physically weak, slow, not great positionally, not great anticipation, not great in a back 4 ( he prefers a 5 ) , not even great at tackling.

Yet here we are, looking at him as the 70m Euro solution to our defensive problems. 🤣

Book this: If he comes here, 90 percent of this forum will be moaning about him by Christmas. That is a guarantee.
