" I have been dreaming playing for Barca since I was 3 yrs old"

That's it!
When you see an Englishman, Liverpool fan and local boy, dreaming Barca more than any English club,
it means we have defeated everyone (bar Madrid) in terms of pull...

That's our biggest weapon in the transfer market

we're a make a wish club now

Great player

Alot of our games I was wondering what if we had player with great spead that can shift gear fast not like Rashy boy
It's clear why we finalized the deal early
Alot of clubs looking for RW the price could of gone up if we didn't do it

IMO we got him cheap

Read online/twiiter that he will be getting 7mil net, so around 14mil gross. Double the amount he was getting at Newcastle.

I think it's a bit high. Hope its incorrect. Around 10mil gross is a good salary for him.

I had no clue he spoke Spanish… pretty awesome
I just dont buy the story of him always wanting to play for us, and had a spanish coach/teacher at his school.

Because of this story, I believe we already tapped him up way before. And he has been taking spanish lessons because of it.

This also makes sense when you see how fast we got the deal done. When have we ever moved so fast in the transfer window? I havent seen us doing it in the last decade or so.

He seems no-nonsense. And I do think we came in late. His physio was Spanish btw.

Even I learned Spanish through following Spanish football without knowing any Spanish speaking person in real life, let alone someone who was supposedly obsessed with Barca as we are, wants to play there and has Spanish people around him. I find it belivable, Spanish is easy anyway.

I think his goal was Barca or Madrid, and it just happened to be us.

But agent talks must have turned serious around the Newcastle games.

His Physio is from Madrid but with a Catalan surname surely there are roots there - either way he confirmed the player was very blaugrana. Same with quotes from his mother Nadine & father that backup the childhood dream to play for Barça one day

Not sure why so many scoff or skeptical, you can't visit a youth club anywhere in the world and not see kids in a Barça kit

Looking forward to seeing the player in action, sounds like there will be some friendlies in the UK this summer during pre-season (Birmingham City for one)

If anyboy then we here on this forum should understand that's it's possible to fell in love with a foreign club, learn the tradition, the language and everything about it. He seems similar to us, just better on the pitch. Wonder which username he has here?

Spanish is one of the easiest languages to pick up, you can learn it quickly if you read articles, listen to commentary and watch interviews etc.

Maybe you are right, but what he says, for me, is very believable.

Well he is here now and whatever we think about the transfer we have to support the lad, especially since it is obvious he has had a great affinity towards the club since a child. That came through with his interview after the 7 - 2 defeat when he described us as the best team he has faced.

It's not the player but the transfer fee that has left a bad taste. Would love nothing more than to be proven wrong and him show himself to be worth 80m.

It’s 2nd highest in the squad, only Frenkie De Jong being ahead who is highest wages after Lewandowski leaving. Quite shocked at that as well but his agent must have been very demanding, if true of course. Would be happy if it was a bit exaggerated.

I don't believe his wage is low, it's high, and this is normal when you make him a big signing... wage follows along naturally. But 2nd in the squad is unlikely.

They probably put his bonuses in the fixed part.

What stage of Grief is this????
:boss:

I don't know what stages of grief or whatnot, but I know to never bet against competitive athletes who give 100%. If this guy does this here, he has enough quality to become one of the best wingers in the game.

EPL is the etalon of 1 vs 1 fast and athletic football. If you are proven in EPL, you tend to have all the tools to make it big. This is why big clubs jump with the big money on these players.

Btw, since I haven't seen much of Newcastle and EPL in recent seasons, I watched some of his highlights. I expected him to be worse in terms of technique. Very not so. Might surprise a few people even in terms of trickery and dribbles.

Because you only saw the good bits and not the numerous missed chances, terrible first touches and the low IQ decision making.
