Gordon, a good signing?

Just read the Gordon thread on the biggest Newcastle forum on the internet.

They watched him week in week out and know better than any of us.

So many of them are genuinely surprised that a club of Barca's legacy and stature was even interested in him. They thought it was some kind of a troll/meme/wind-up attempt initially.

Because you only saw the good bits and not the numerous missed chances, terrible first touches and the low IQ decision making.

No doubt I did, but on the counter argument, Gordon is joining a side that beat Newcastle 7-2. He's gonna have everything to upgrade his football and fitnesse his game by a lot. From better teammates, to better tactics, all the way down to easier, less physical opponents (except 4-5 matches in CL per season).

I don't see how a player that has been known to improve constantly doesn't do so at a much faster rate at Barcelona.

Gordan is Flicks new Gnabry.

Arsecans said similarly when Gnabry ended up there.

Premtards loled when Lookman initially got rated in Italy.

It's a tail old as time. Ill reserve the hyperboles until we seen his first half season.

It's almost as if he wasn't dropped for Harvey Barnes early on in the season.

Since I signed up to this website I've been almost exclusively positive about the club. So much so, that you could be forgiven for thinking I was Siempre Positivo @SiemprePositivo.

As a result, I'm actually enjoying all the positive comments about Gordon. Makes a refreshing change.

It's just a shame that the forum decided to become ridiculously positive on the news event that deserved the most criticism. :mou:

Have seen a few bits on other social media spaces and literally everyone is asking the same question? Why have Barca paid so much for him? Plenty of Barca fans amongst them.

Meh, if Englishmen knew their football, they wouldn't desperately need Spanish and German managers to teach them how to play. Both in their league and in their National Team.

Flick is gonna teach them a new lesson with Gordon. He'd better... or else...

That point falls a bit when Barca is built on the ideas of Dutchmen and Real have won their CLs in recent years with French and Italian coaches.

Atleti? Argentinian.

No one in England cares where the coaches are from really. Same as in Spain.

That's because all the top spanish coaches went to PL, Watson. Also the entire PL is now basing their core philosophy on one catalan disciple of said dutchman. Real indeed don't care because they're retarded.

He will be great fit.

To bad retards only see goals and assists and say he us good or not.

Scout reports says he is great fit, and will improve our team.

Is he Kvaratskelia? No.

He is different type of player who can bring us something else

You will love what he does off the ball, but on the ball he will frustrate you as much or more than Rashford.

Speaking of Rashford, the FA just released their "player arrivals" video for the World Cup and maybe I'm imagining it but the short interaction between Gordon and Rashford felt really cold and awkward. Wonder if there's some resentment there...

Everton fans even question his character, consider him completely selfish and focused primarily on himself. But they are also of the view that a move to Barca could humble him as it can't get better than that for him.

If this doesn't work out, he'll definitely be sold back to an EPL club in a couple years (Flick could be leaving by then, hope not), maybe LFC or Chelsea would be in for him.
