There is only one man on the planet who had a great league campaign and an amazing World Cup. And that was :messi:.

Has Ronaldo's smear campaign infected us all that nobody has mentioned his name yet as the Ballon winner.

Didn't Modric win a Ballon based predominantly off dragging his team to a World Cup final ? Isn't that what sealed the deal over Ronaldo?

Kane played 1 good game at the World Cup, Messi was great in every game bar the final.

Are we really going to give it to Kane for the easiest job in football, that of the main striker for Bayern Munich.

I've no doubt in my mind that you put Messi in that Bayern team over Kane and the numbers will be similar. 70 goals and assists. No doubt.

Messi looked by far the better player in the World Cup, is quicker than Kane and bar the dozen or so headed goals Kane got, what would stop Messi equalling Kane's effort in the BayernLiga?

Is not Messi carrying Inter Miami to success equally as impressive as what Kane did ? Bayern would have won the same trophies with Nico Jackson up top instead.

Messi has already been robbed off a World Cup Golden Ball because apparently everything he wins is ' rigged '. Let's not join in on him getting robbed off a Ballon d'Or as well.

The only right answer. But we'll let it slide as another Ballon won't mean anything. He achieved God of football status already.
 
It is an interesting year, as none of the big names (Kane, Mbappe, Yamal etc) meet all the criteria for winning the ballondor.

The most important factor is Individual performance: Kane and Mbappe win this.

Achievements and team trophies: Yamal leads here and after him is Kane.

Crucial games:
World Cup: Messi and Rodri.
Regular season: several players such as Kane,Kvara and others.

I believe Kane deserves to be this year's winner, with Yamal and Mbappe finishing behind him.

The other spots are difficult too.

Where should Messi, Kvara, Rodri, Olise etc be ranked?

Nobody is "campaigning" against Jamal, he just lacked the numbers or some great performance to give him better odds.

Let me help you then.


Cape Verde: 1st game still recovering played only a few minutes.
Saudi Arabia: Irrelevant opponent, Spain totally dominated the game from the first minute.
Uruguay: Poor game, iirc he didn't even have a single shot and could barely dribble past his opponent.


Austria: Decent game, nothing spectacular.

Portugal: Another game that Mendes pocketed him. The only argument someone can say is that Yamal was the reason Mendes got injured. Another average performance.

Belgium: He had some good moments, but was too rushed and squandered countless opportunities for his team.

France: Spain's midfield made the entire French team look like an U17 team. Lamine won the penalty for his team and had a few good moments, but once again nothing spectacular.

Argentina: Once again, the Spanish team dominated the match, but Tagliafico handled Yamal quite well.


Dribbling aside, his overall performance was merely average, he didn't create enough for his team and contributed neither goals nor assists while he won some duels and fouls, he lost possession countless times.


To be honest, some Yamal's fans are starting to behave like Cristiano's delusional teenage fans and cannot accept reality.
 
Mour disagrees with Cristiano who had stated that the player who wins ucl should win the ballondor

However Cristiano was salty when Modric won.

Mour implied that Mbappe should win the ballondor because he made history this summer (by becoming the top scorer due to an exhibition match for 3rd place) :benitez:
