Signed some lads from Tenerife apparently.
Yeah, first one is probably the more exciting - Joni Hernandez, also dubbed as a "new Pedri" though he's a right winger. 18 years old, he played against Juvenil A in Copa de Campeones a few months ago.
I rewatched the first leg yesterday. He worked hard off the ball and created something positive when he touched the ball but Tenerife didn't involve him too much in their game (no idea why). I will rewatch the return game today or tomorrow.
Club gave him a 4-year contract (they usually sign these type of players for 2-3 years) so they could have a high expectations for him. No idea about the release clause though.
Second one is a bit more experienced, 22 year old Juan Ybarra. He played mainly as a left winger for Tenerife's B team in Segunda RFEF, so the same level we play at. Had a pretty good return with 13 goals and 4 assists in 32 games. He's probably meant as a replacement for Oscar Urena.
On a side note I've just seen that for some reason Tenerife B (and Las Palmas B too) played in the same group as the Madrid teams (Real Madrid C, Getafe and Rayo B) last season. They will be in the group with the Andalusian teams (Sevilla and Betis B and then some pretty well known teams like Xerez and Recreativo Huelva) this season which geographically makes a bit more sense though tbf they have to get on the plane to the mainland anyway regardless of what group they play in.
With these three new players (also Ignasi Quer signing confirmed last week) we've completely rebuilt the attack. As I see it right now we have something like
LW: Alex Gonzalez, Juan Ybarra, Lovro Chelfi*
ST: Ignasi Quer, Hamza Abdelkarim, Oscar Gistau
RW: Joni Hernandez, Ibrahim Diarra, Shane Kluivert
Hopefully Diarra will finally stay fit. I see him more as a midfielder than a winger though. Same with Tunkara who will definitely be the main man of this new Barca Atletic team next year. I've seen reports that some Segunda teams have shown interest in a loan but he's only 16 so I think staying at BA, train occasionally with the first team and maybe even get some minutes there is better than loaning him out at this point.
We also have Sama Nomoko but he's not expected to return before end of 2026 so I don't expect too much from him this season. Main goal should be to fully recover and then hope injury didn't ruin his development too much.
* Mentioning Chelfi he had a good performance for Croatia in last group stage game of the U19 Euro and also scored a nice goal.
Croatia will face Spain tomorrow in the semi-finals.
