It was last year too and he started Yamal against low league opposition in Copa. 🤣 Flick is not going to rotate more than he has to and players like Rapha and Yamal revolt if he does too. He didn't came yesterday, he's here for 2 years, you guys should know how he works by now.

As things look we'll be thin with quality players in every line anyway so he will not have much of a choice.

As I said. He has to.
Give him 25 or more players. And ask him to rotate.
Come March, if fatigue sets in or injury occurs because of excessive gametime, point it out.
This is the job of Deco.

Our priority should be going into March with as many fresh legs as possible. For that if we have to play all the bench players in Dec, so be it.

No, it's not. It's Flick's decision how much will he rotate, not Deco's. Maybe Deco should start doing his job before he starts doing Flick's. Deco can't get him 15 quality players, let alone 25. He should suck Hansi's dick because Hansi is the only reason he still has this job, not lecture him.

In an ideal world I agree with what you are saying but I also know how Flick works and don't expect that.

Agree to disagree.

While I agree its Deco's job aswell to give him quality and quantity. Its also Flick's job to rotate and see the big picture. Our Front with the inclusion of Adyemi & Gordon has enough quality to rotate heavily. Our midfield also is good enough that Pedri doesnt have to play 3k minutes.

Our CB situation is shit, but it is what it is, you see the big picture and play Araujo the whole of Nov & Dec. I am assuming Christensen will be out injured. Kek.
 
He'll rotate more this season he'll be forced into it by circumstances and has more players now in the squad that he selected.

Well yeah, we can continue to agree to disagree even with this post. In attack it looks likely we'll have 4 players for 3 positions + Hamza and Bisiwu who are very unproven even if they are talented and should get some minutes but can't count on them. So it's basically 3 starters + 1 sub in attack for entire season, hardly enough to rotate. 1 injury and you are literally without subs who aren't teenagers. Signing Alvarez would change a lot but hard to be optimistic about that at this point. But even if we signed him that doesn't change the character of Flick, Rapha and Yamal who still won't want to rotate a lot.

What depth in midfield? Can't see it, at least not in double pivot. We only have Pedri as a proven option and a couple of big questions in Gavi, Casado and Bernal, that's it. Except Pedri this is Elche level of midfield. FDJ situation is totally unkown and probably unavailable for a very long time so can't count on him. You call that depth?

At least we both agree that defence is shit also.

I'd prefer if we could get Salinas or someone else as another option for LB. Then have Cancelo, Balde, Kounde, Salinas compete for the starting RB & LB spots.
Eric moves as CB option, and we ship Araujo anywhere possible.

An attack of Raph, Gordon, Adeyemi, Yamal + new ST should be good enough to be rotated heavily.
Gordon can play atleast two positions LW + ST
Rapha LW + RW
Adeyemi can play across the whole lineup.
5 players + an Academy player for 3 positions should be good enough, when three players can play multiple positions.

You forgot Eric. At one point last season, Eric played the most in the DM spot. So its Eric, Gavi, Bernal for 2 positions as backup. Olmo has also shown some promise as a backup CM. We have some rumours of buying a CM after we sell Casado, Ounahi was the name, and I think he is good enough.
While this might not be LaLiga winning midfiled its good enough to sustain it.

My point is Flick should rotate even though its a clear downgrade. I would rather draw/lose in Nov-Dec with our bench playing than crash out of UCL because our main starting lineup has a ton of injuries & fatigue.

Even if it's not Alvarez, we will sign someone. Vlahovi, maybe we wont sell Ferran. Something will happen.
If we don't, then I will agree with you that we are thin at the front.


I know that's what I have been saying. Flick has no excuses now not to rotate, and Deco should see to it that he does.

Gordon can't be relied on as a striker, especially a Barca striker who needs to operate in very tight spaces most of the time.

Adeyemi might be slightly better but still, if we have to rely on either of them in an UCL knock-out round we are probably cooked.
 
The midfield and attack depth if Rodri joins will be crazy.

Again the problem remains backline. I think it would be one of best things if Christensen could remain fit.

Attack depth is poor IF Ferran is staying. If he goes as well it's tragic. Wings are covered but nothing in the center.

And before we talk about a false 9, unless we have access to a time machine and prime Messi it doesn't work.

Olmo did excellent job there. We will see how Gordon and Adeyemi do.

And we will likely sign a striker if Ferran leaves.
 
Dembele plays as a false nine for PSG..

Kane more or less does also but can be a threat in box more.

Far from just Messi.

Why? It was weird to use seniority as the main argument in the first place. It should count but should not be the whole deciding factor.
