We'll end up with Bernardo Silva, Cancelo and Lewa extended for 1 more year on lower wages. Retirement FC
 
I don't know why people reject Bernardo

Our midfield depth is overrated. If all three of Pedri, FDJ, Gavi are fit and fully in form it's great but I don't think that's been the case for more than a few months in last 3-4 seasons

Bernal is top but we need to give him time. Right now this role where he sometimes comes off the bench and starts some games here and there in injury crisis is really perfect

Bernardo is also far from finished. He is a top class player still and is not even that old. Incredibly versatile and hard working and excellent technically, so fits all the criteria

It all really depends on his wages and how willing he is to perhaps take a less important role in the squad
 
I don't think we should ignore him as an option, but it will depend on what and if we can find options for our weaker positions. He can help as RW back-up also.

Two things:

Allocation of resources: You stated 4 players in that double pivot positions who are all under long term contracts and fairly big wages. None would accept becoming 5th player in that set up, and that is with assumption that Casado is gone . And then we have a Marques from La Masia in case of injury crisis.
In AM we have Olmo and Fermin, and while they aren't perfect they are arguably our best duo in one position. In RW we have Lamine and Roony.
If anything we can sell one of the players above, and still be fairly deep in the positions he plays at. If we ever thought about adding another player, it will be a destroyer who can play with the ball. Silva isn't that.


The second reason is the Gundogan experience, he was also in great form, just won the treble, and was underwhelming overall in the team. He was decent, but not what the team needed. Just like Silva.

If City aren't willing to give him renewal, we shouldn't be the one doing it.
 
Diomande would be class. Would be important for us to have a second winger, who can take on defenders. But Leipzig won't be sell cheaply.
What about signing Oyarzabal. He has shown in the national team that he can play striker and functions with our spanish boys

I really disagree with that narrative. We need someone who is great in off the ball movement.
Barca has 2 great players who are creators in Lamine and Olmo, atm only Raphinha is the reliable goal scorer who crashes the box and open passing lanes for others. Ferran is that too but he is underwhelming.
Maybe of we sign a top notch striker it could work.

However, to his credit, Diomande is very good goal scorer, so it works. He would be out of our price range anyway

We need an LCB, RB, LW/RW backup, #9 and probably an LB - we should ship Kounde, Casado, Balde. That's a lot of cash and it simply won't happen this summer because that's to many players and the complexity of it.
But a striker and one of Kounde or Balde sold and replaced should be the minimum... and than a cheap talent or two we can take a chance on.
