Being a part of his close circle hardly makes it interference, rather guidance based off experience that can be trusted. You don't think footballers do that for one another, particularly Argentines much less the greatest modern influence in their football? Even Leo would be biased and push for Barça a priori but he can speak to the Paris experience & their ownership & fanbase

I think it is far less than you think. No one would want to feel responsible if things go South. At most he will answer generically about the pros and cons of moving to Barca or PSG and how working with Lucho is, rather than trying to affect his decision.

What negative stuff is there even for Messi to say about PSG that would apply to Alvarez. Would take a lot of convincing to make a player stay away from a CL winning side.

It would be slightly different if it's a battle between PSG and Barca and Julian himself decides to ask Messi about his experiences for both clubs. But Messi hasn't represented Barca for 5 years so I doubt Julian would learn anything new from that. He might well ask Griezmann about joining Barca.

Messi can give him a lot of advice on how he should stay far away from Laporta if he doesn't want to be stabbed in the back at the last minute.

Barcelona born left back Sergi Cardona from Villarreal should be on our radar. Played less this season but his contract runs out in a year.

I posted over a year ago we should've gone for Pedro, now his price is too high.

If Zirks gets substantial playing time next season, we'll hear we want him then too when price becomes too high again.

Our scouting team is shameful.

Maybe this summer we stay extremely frugal. This team isn't needing too much.

Sign Rashford he covers RW and LW he gets the G/A and is already integrated. Easy call

Sign Cancelo he is 10x Balde and this is another easy call. Versatile LB and RB

Try for Oyarzabal if we can get him for 30m. Easy to integrate and a Barca type forward Spanish international possibly a WC winning starter. Would be seamless.

Ratiu for a cheap RB would better complement Yamal. Worth a shot as one of the top players from Rayo who is very very decent this year.

Players out:
Lewa
Christensen
Araujo
Ter Stegen
Fati
Kounde
Bardaghi

LCB and a #9 are going to be the prioritized positions to be fortified, assuming Lewandowski is leaving. The conventional wisdom suggested he was definitely out but should the #9 pursuit prove to be complicated do they push the #9 pursuit to 2027 should the Alvarez pursuit fail & alternatives are not ideal? Everything predicated on Alvarez outcome but my gut says there is some confidence this can get done despite how improbable it would seem. I give this a 5/10 likelihood of success

The Bastoni option continues to be crystal clear IMHO, not just in terms of my POV but what appears to be the will of the sporting sector & Flick. Too many clear signals this is a pursuit the club are serious about while remaining discrete in media. Adrian Sanchez seems to have a good pulse of things and he implied that a reunion is coming this week with both clubs & Bastoni's agents for the 1st time F2F. If Alvarez pursuit is the long game that could go beyond WC then Bastoni would likely move forward IMHO. I have this as a 10/10 likelihood of success - I feel as certain as I was about Nico last summer despite Tebas keeping the player from us in the end or how fortunate that was in the end.

But he was the guy I wanted most, more than a #9 - a backline player who would be a leader on the pitch. Something Flick alludes to a lot when he talks about leadership on the pitch in those moments. Plus, that left leg - he will bring a lot of assists and hopefully improve both Pau & Gerrard's progressing passing & reads of the game. I think he is a game changer no different than Lamine in that backline and hopefully that will also push Cubarsi to reach his full potential since he still has so much room to grow in his game. Seems mutual respect between the players too on social media which is when I first started taking note that Bastoni seemed to be a fan of the club. I didn't think his signing was probable, mainly because I wasn't certain the player aspired to go abroad since, like Catalans, they don't really leave. But I think it speaks to his ambition as a competitor too and I had the suspicion during our CL tie that something stirred for the player, to be a part of this generation at Barça. I thought he had and now I am convinced he had and does which ultimately will get a potential move over the line - player's will and I am 100% convinced he wants this move

From there for sure it is a question about the LW, FBs and the squad exits

how is everyone okay with Garcia and Cubarci as our two main RCBs despite both of them costing us in both finals against Athletico?

its not like Cubarsi is much better than him. i'd rather not start either of them in a high profile champions league game at cb
The difference is Garcia is at his best level he can get. Cubarsi will be getting better and better next year he will be much better than this year.
