The biggest advantage we have in comparison to most others is, that we have one of the youngest squads in Europe, that gets better and more experienced with each passing season. We just need to target the weak points of the squad, which La-Masia can't provide currently and we're good to go to challenge the CL title.

We need one centre-back, one full-back (better 2, but well start with 1) and one striker in worldclass level to challenge PSG. It's not that much.

Cuccurella would be great, much better player then Balde.

If we can ship out Balde and get Cuccurella/Hall that would be great job.

Same for Kounde.

So what? Cucu's better then Balde offensively and we shouldn't search for leftback with the idea how he fits with Rapha but with Gordon. I'm pretty sure Rapha will be here max 1 more season but wouldn't surprise me if he leaves after the WC. Gordon can hold the width better then Rapha so our leftback could take a step back in that case.

If we are going for Cucurella or Lewis Hall, it would only mean that we are not going for a top tier LCB, if we even go for one.

I would rather we spend that amount on a LCB/CB and bring in a cheap RB like Ratiu or Palestra. And sell Kounde.
Bringing Cucurella or Hall is just wasteful when Kounde is the one we should be looking to offload, not Balde.

Some thoughts on the type of ST we should be looking at. And why it shouldnt be Alvarez.

What do you think guys, if we manage to bring in Alvarez and on top of that Cancelo, CB, maybe even replace another full-back, and considering Florentino is happy with Mbappe and Vinicius, are we looking at a period of longer dominance in the league and finally winning at least one Champions League in the next 2–3 years?

It should also be noted that starting next season in La Liga will be fully automatic offside technology.

Nothing is for certain in football. Madrid could get their shit together and win vs LL smaller teams to be closer in the race. CL is way more unpredictable. The biggest in-form teams this year in CL were PSG, Arsenal and Bayern. Who knows, you could get improved versions of Mant Utd, Liverpool and Madrid next season, which would make the run-up to a final even trickier.
What's for certain is that this summer is big for us - get it right and we might finally win the CL in the next 2-3 seasons. If it doesn't turn out well, Flick could be sacked. At a club like Barca everything is possible and managers like Pep, Cesc, Lucho might be available/wanting to come back.

With all the drama around other potential signings we are forgetting that our midfield has the numbers, but no true DM. We'll pe playing Garcia there again if FDJ gets injured(and he ain't even great at being a destroyer).

Teams dont play with a sitting DM anymore.

Two teams that just reach the final dont nor do any semi final team or anyone else.

Defensively Caicedo would be the best but he also sold a good few goals this season from being caught on ball and did it v Barca when Ferran missed the sitter at start.

Said it a thousand times but due to way teams are going man for man you need midfielders and players all over park comfortable taking ball under pressure and more than one DM with triangles.

Those days are gone and it is much more about movement and options building up from back.

Caicedo can do both, obviously better defensively but isn't poor on the ball by any means.

All those teams have a very dynamic Midfield, with some real runners who cover space every quickly, none of our Midfielders do that, over the curse of a game they cover a lot of ground, but in those quick 5-10 yards sprint to close down space and the man we don't have players like that.

Probably why flick wants Gavi back so badly, he's very good at that.

I guarantee Luis cares more about his midfielders ability to close his man down and feeling comfortable in all 3 phases of the game, than he does about their pass completion % and passes attempt.

Same for arteta but on the opposite end of the spectrum for why he wants them to do so.

Caicedo has been getting caught on the ball a fair bit since arrived at Chelsea and did v Barca.. just missed the chance.

Frenkie is quicker than likes of Ruiz easily but PSG hunt more as a three and not a two. They dont have AM as such in same way Barca do.

Arteta doesnt ask his midfielders like Zubimendi to do nearly as much on ball when Arsenal have it or off defensively than any two deep Barca have.

They are far more structured and playing as a unit.

Frenkie is Barcas only athletic midfielder.

Pedri after that probably for how long he can go.

According to "The Purist", Gavi is the best athlete in Barca's midfield.

One of the funniest takes I've heard, but, its an opinion people actually have.
