Caicedo can do both, obviously better defensively but isn't poor on the ball by any means.

All those teams have a very dynamic Midfield, with some real runners who cover space every quickly, none of our Midfielders do that, over the curse of a game they cover a lot of ground, but in those quick 5-10 yards sprint to close down space and the man we don't have players like that.

Probably why flick wants Gavi back so badly, he's very good at that.
Frenkie's acceleration is very good but he lacks grit sometimes. That's my main disappointment with him, outstanding on the ball, great athlete, but sometimes drops the ball defensively.

If he was more aggressive he would be the midfielder you are describing along with his top contribution on the ball.

According to "The Purist", Gavi is the best athlete in Barca's midfield.

One of the funniest takes I've heard, but, its an opinion people actually have.
Mind boggling.

That video said he struggles to pass forward from deep, struggles to create or score when further forward, struggles positonally when deep.

Then went on to say he is master of all trades.

The worst comparison get for Gavi is Neves.. because roughly same height and aggresive. That is about where it ends.

Jamdav turns every conversation in Midfield about Frenkie, which wasn't the point I was making.

But anyways the thing that stops Frenkie from being truly WC and great, is he has zero X factor to his game, like you said no grit. All truly great midfielder has that little extra something.

Xavi, pirlo, iniesta, kross, modric, gerrand, cesc, Alonso, Pedri, vitinha, rodri I could go on and on.

That's where caicedo would come in handy. He has that little X factor we need.

Frenkie is just very good at ball retention and circulation. If he was busi levels with it then he would be awesome but obviously no one is that.

Jamrock tries to deflect from likes of Kounde to saying wants Caicedo.

Of course then the discussion goes to comparative players in position he would play at Barca.

Not difficult to understand.

Frenkie gets into every team in the world and likes of Pedri. Gavi. Fermin the ones he plays with would think the opinions of the usual folk are moronic.

Same folk who have proven time and again dont have clue about Barca midfielders and how play.

'Casado is top class' etc.

A year ago Reijnders was top class and better than Frenkie... so to was Zubimendi...now its Caicedo.

Keep naming players in near on every team and make out correct when one has to win.

Laugh emoji below if you are a dumb yank who claimed Reijnders is world class. Thats an order.

See some of the ITK types saying Olmo could be off to Arsenal.

This lad has been hit and miss but got some correct in past.

Olmo imo is the ideal sale in offense. I like the player, but considering we have Yamal, he is just not a great fit for us. Would miss some of his great goals, but we have to raise money.

Arsenal are the opposite to us, they have plenty of power and pace and athleticism, and would need a bit of his flair and technique.

Make it 65-70m to make some low profit and I'd sell.

He said it is 60m.. but again he is very hit or miss.

Silva surely be signed if that happened.

Alvarez would be absolutely immense at the 10 also and may well be where he ends up in a few years if gets signed.

60m is break even no, IIRC think this is about how much we paid for him from Leipzig.

I wouldn't be against selling Fermin either for the right offer, but I have a feeling the club and Flick would want to keep him and he wouldn't want to go either. Fermin should fetch more than 70m.

Selling Olmo makes little sense from FFP perspective.

This is generally false tbh.
It saves his salary, his amortization and adds profit. Then it saves the amortization through next years of his contract too.
This argument is only correct when you want a very short term boost for 1 summer signing.
Selling Olmo would save around 10M amortization, nets us 25M profit in addition to his wage.

My problem with De Jong is that he is just blind, he is most uncreative player ever, he just can't do 1% of De Bruyne's or Messi's passes where he can split defenses, or chip ball over defense.

Gavi could be decent next year for us, I belive he can do same thing as Neves if he plays constantly and gets form.

Currently he is not on that level, but I don't see him much more talented then him.

De Jong passes the ball forward levels ahead of the likes of Gavi.

And carries it forward a lot more.

Very good in progressing ball and had some absolute cracking assists across the years.

I don't want to sell anybody in midfield, I'm happy with everybody... Olmo, Pedri, Fermin, Bernal, Gavi, De Jong. Gordon was a good, but strange signing - we have Raphinha and Yamal for LW/RW - Gordon signing kind of doesn't make sense if Flick doesn't plan on using Gordon or Raphinha as a 9. But than Alvarez is out of the question.... What am I missing?

Gordon makes sense as the top clubs have more than 2 wide players to rely on.

Both for injuries and off bench.

PSG and Bayern are showing how huge that is to have in the team.

Man to Man marking across the pitch is massive at moment and need players that can break that with taking ball past players and also hitting space.

Also helps when they can work to man to man mark and press the opposition.

Folk are going to love Gordon very quickly would be my guess.

Other than likes of the usual twats that have decided not good enough and nothing will change it.

Nice one. 😂
Couldn't see that one coming at all, great line.

Yep failing to beating a team are finish 20+ point about in the CL, just another day

Concede 7 against inter and throwing away a game you won already because you were trying to win it by more. Nice.

Embarrassing Germany in the WC. Shit happens.
Still blaming the coach for players not wasting time when given the chance, too funny.

1) Every professional has to know when to take advantage of running down the clock at the very end of a game, when given the chance. Our players made that mistake and it is their responsibility.

2) Thinking the coach actually instructed them to attack a few minutes away from winning it...the delusions and stupidity people grasp to for the sake of trying not to lose an argument, it's just sad 😂

I do like the signing and I think we'll be happy with him. Obviously Roony first to go and Rashy might end up leaving (especially if we REALLY want Silva - not the best option for RW backup but in a pinch still alright) - I just hope we don't fuck around with Alvarez for to long, but I think the club has a plan B and C for the 9 spot.

Read Olmo is getting improved contract. But yeah, if someone of relevance in midfield needs to go it's Olmo.

They guy who claims Olmo is near to Arsenal is claiming it is in Olmos contract for an increase more so than agreed increased now.

Could be bollocks but thats the claim.
