Bernardo Silva

Recent leaks that he is leaning towards Atletico, because he will be an undisputed starter there, a role Barca did not promise him...

Good!
I don't want entitled washed or semi-washed players here, who think they are better than they really are, who want heavy wages and guarantees of starting spots.

Bernardo, if you don't want to come here on lowish wages reflecting your age, and fight with Pedri or FDJ for a starting spot, then good luck with Atleti on the lower tier.

This is Barca, not City.

It's all rumors and bs so far. But IF the rumored proposed 4+4m wage is anywhere close to the truth than fucking LOL!

What wages would you be ok with / give him at Barca ?

I'd be fine with whatever wage as long as it allows us to reinforce other positions. If it's 5 or 15m doesn't matter if we have a strong team all around.

On a short two year deal with small wages, he would be perfect.
It's his last good years and probably his last high contract in Europe, he won't sell himself cheaply. Especially because he comes without a fee.

I don't see how he fits into Flick's style of play.

People just see a hardworking player and think they'll automatically fit into a Flick system. It's not that simple.

On the ball he's the opposite of a Flick player. He's not direct at all.

Wrong profile imo.

Given that Pedri is on 10m gross, he has to get below that.
Something like 8m gross should be reasonable

I don't care how much he was getting at petroldollar clubs.
This is Barca.
If he wants last pension money he can f* off to elsewhere

Think it was reported he will be on 12-13m gross.

After getting all the reinforcements (LCB, RB, Cancelo, CF), we need. I wouldn't mind giving him that.
That's too much. I like him alot but 7 to 8 gross is max for this guy. He's also old and Pep has brutalised him. His legs will go very soon.

Ya I would also want that.
But I dont think he would be coming if its 8m. He's earning quite a lot in ManC. Read that 12-13m is after a pay cut.

Florentino Pérez and his team began implementing Mourinho's requests for the upcoming season, and the top priority is Bernardo Silva. He considered offers from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but decided to put everything on hold due to Mourinho's imminent arrival at Real Madrid.

If Madrid are interested in him, that's where he will go, because they will give him a high wage.

These old free agents are usually looking for their last big contracts. And I doubt we will give that to him, nor should we.

We have depth in midfield already and players who are waiting for time. Bernal and Gavi are the substitutes for now and we also have Marques coming up.

...and the promise of a spot in the starting XI.

Doesn't bother me that much of true. Lovely player that would've suited us perfectly, but wouldn't get a starter spot (aside from injuries/rotations). Add to that the facts that he's turning 32 during the beginning of next season and that he's had 9(?) taxing years under Pep, so I very much doubt he'll keep up the stamina for top football for more than a few seasons at best. Will be an instant upgrade for RM's joke of a midfield though, sadly.

I think we also give these guys high wages, Gundogan is recent and a good example. Madrid offer should be more than ours though, if they're interested and he should be a good addition. Definitely better than Camavinga

We won't be signing him as a confirmed starter so I doubt we will give that kind of wage.

If he comes to play here, there is already depth in midfield, so he will have to earn his place, and it will be difficult with Frenkie and Pedri ahead of him, although it is possible.

We just don't need him as much as the other teams so not one for us this time.

If the rumors about him wanting a starting spot and a big wage are true we should stay far away. He would be an option for us only if he's cheap and willing to sit on the bench at times. He obviously got better options from both Madrid clubs where he would play a lot more IMO so hard to blame him.

It's also true he fits the old Barca style a lot more then Flick's.
