Caso Negreira

Jokes aside the allegations are serious particularly from an ethical standpoint.

Although there is certainly no evidence of match fixing or referee bias in favor of Barca this does not alter the fact that the club's reputation has suffered in the eyes of the public given that it made payments to the VP of the refereeing committee.

I don't understand where all this optimism comes from.

Serious sanctions certainly won't be imposed but the stigma will remain regardless.
Well that's Flo's whole idea probably. To deceive the casuals and give them a false image.

But it's not that important. Nobody who really follows football falls for their shit, and nobody who doesn't really cares.

Of course it's more PR, than a heavy legal case. For the Madrid plebs that was one of Florentino main campaign promises - to push on the Negreira case.

So apparently they sent 50,000 pages? Who the hell is actually going to read all that nonsense?
Either UEFA is about to buy the pro version of some AI chatbot or some poor interns are going to spend the next six months digging through a mountain of absolute nothing.

What the fuck did they write that requires 50,000 pages?

I'm sure you could fit the entire history of Primera into that many pages.

Completely different cases but Milan fans, Juve fans, City fans etc etc reacted the same way till they were fucked.

We aren't going to get fucked, but if we are found guilty for sports corruption in Spain and/or banned from the cl for a season in the eyes of most people it will amount to the same thing.

Until we are found guilty we can laugh at Florentino for crying at UEFA to help him get this big mean bear off his back .

Caso Negreira is as shady as it gets. Real is doing Barca a favor with the charade they create around it but it’s a real nightmare without a single solid explanation from the club that would satisfy the informed public.

Because nothing would satisfy the public. Laporta tried to, some believed him, some didn't. This will always be the case. That said, years long investigations lead to absolutely nothing, so far Laporta is in the right.

Or we are guilty and we just tiki-taka-ed the investigators.

The team informed Papa Perez that he has until November 25 to either retract his public accusations regarding stolen leagues blah blah or face legal action for defamation etc etc.

This is nothing new, but at least it is something.

What are we guilty of, paying refs to decide games in our favor? Did we watch the same LaLiga all this time?

I also don't believe all this money went to the reports exclusively. Some of it sure, but not the main part. It's too much for reports.
I'm pretty sure the club paid Negreira also in order to keep the ref appointments as neutral as possible. We all know how LL operated in the past, how often we were fucked by Madrid refs.
The club supporting Catalan politics always put us at a disadvantage in LL. I personally think the money was there to keep the appointments somewhat more neutral, or keep in close contacts to be able to react to certain refs.

Does that make us guilty? Not in my eyes, because Barca always had to fight against Catalan hatred throughout their history. In the authorities' eyes? Probably yes, but since the club and Negreira were most likely smart enough to don't keep records, they can't find anything. This case will soon be closed, I'm sure of it. No new evidence has come up since a long time. They can't keep it open indefinitely.

Bottom line, watching Barca and LaLiga since 2 decades, I can say with surety the club didn't pay the refs. So I don't see us guilty.

The Spanish court couldn't find the smoking gun - Negreira paying referees the Barca money for those data analytics. The only stupidity was Negreira running his own private firm to consult the data. That isn't illegal, since RFEF is a NGO.

The only notion out there is Negreira in his VP position was assigning the most-Barca refs for our games, which I frankly never noticed. 95% of El Clasicos were ref'd by that prick Lahoz during the period.

Why was Negreira allowed to own a firm and offer services while also being employed in CTA? If you allow him to operate that firm then you also allow clubs to contract that firm. Seems to me a scandal of Spanish football administration above all.

Anybody really knows and understands the status of this on all the courts? Where is the case still trialed? Where it ended? When and where will be the last court to know if we are innocent or not?
