CL Quarter Final 2nd leg: Atletico - Barca 1-2

pedri - de jong - lopez midfield?
rashford - ferran - yamal ?

which midfield and attacking lineup do you think?

I have already written this game out and probably for the best. we aren't ready for what could happen in the next round.
Exactly.

And if Barca somehow would manage to KO Arsenal in the semis, who really thinks they could realistically beat this Q$G/Bayern in a CL final?

Frenkie only played 10 minutes, so I'd be very surprised if he plays more than 30 tomorrow.

Only questionmark is, if Flick wants to play with Rashford I think. Lewandowski should start, he was rested and Tuna is more useful, if at all, as a sub. So it's either Olmo + Fermin, or Fermin + Rashford I think. I'd prefer to start either without Rashford or Lewy, because we can't afford 2 players with bad pressing.

My preference:

-----------------Joan
Kounde - Araujo - Martin - Cancelo
-------------Eric-----Pedri
------Lamine - Olmo - Fermin
----------------Lewy

Minute 60 -> Rashford, Frenkie, Ferran

After torres two goals I think he will start.
Also think de jong will start,he'll throw everything at the wall.

Yamal olmo rashford
Torres

Is what I'm expecting.

One thing's for sure, optimistic or pessimistic, we need Lady Luck to show her face to us tomorrow to have any chance to turn this around.

Atleti with fully rested side also.

Still cant quite believe Flick decided to play Pedri and Yamal 90 mins at weekend.

Well, first of all it was a derby and important for the club and fans. Secondly, Germans have a saying, literally translated to:

"Rather to have a sparrow in the hand, than a dove on the roof." I think english saying is a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, but the meaning is the same. Focus and be content what you have in the hand first.

My guess would be Pedri and Gavi but Pedri the sitter and Gavi allowed to press more and get forward.

Similar to how set up has been when Pedri/Bernal.

Yea the latter of what you said is exactly why is started a strong team, was saying the same as well.

Better to secure what you have first.

Imagine if we lost that game by some miracle, the go on to lose against atletico?.

Instead of having one hand on the title it would have been more of a contest.

I think he should have subbed Pedri & yamal, but I definitely understand why he started a stronger than expected team.

It is obvious he started and played Pedri and Yamal for 90 as gave it high priority.. no one debates that.

It is whether that is right or wrong thing to do to give best chance in both league and CL.

That argument wears thin when Pedri has only played 45 mins in multiple games recently and Yamal has been coming off earlier also.

Are we now saying likes of Casado is so shit cant play him at home to likes of Espanyol more as fear getting beat if do..

You have achieved a feat of sounding both dunce & retarded at the same time, in your attempt to argue just for the sake of arguing.

Dumb yank who thinks Gavi is more important than Pedri and Casado a top palyer.

Sensational.

Not a clue.

Same dweeb that then falls over himself to say how tired Pedri is when doesnt play well and all about 'stop start' season next time.

Bernal is surprisingly in the squad, but still pending medical green light. Reports are also, that Flick wants to know if Frenkie can play 50-60 minutes, then he'll start.

What gives me some hope is the CB pair of AM with Lenglet and Le Normand. Both are prone to errors and fuck-ups.

If Barça can get to 2-0 by 65 mins, I believe they can do it. Everyone needs to lock in though. 8/10 performances from everyone.

Winning this would require us to decisively outclass a top-10 European team in a away game, something we haven’t achieved even under Pep’s Barça. Unfortunately, the tie is over unless we benefit from extraordinary luck, such as an early red card and a penalty in our favor

What's so special about Bayern? I've watched their game against RM and at no moment thought they did anything special. Neuer made about 3 unreal saves. Could have easily ended 3-3, despite Bayern's hype while RM are in the gutters.

Defensive lucky punch teams like AM, Inter, Chelsea are our problems, not attacking sides like Bayern or PSG.

Unfortunately, in this game we know AM will sneak 1 goal for sure so we need to score at least 4 to win. More likely 5. Without Raphinha, while relying on Rashford, Ferran and Lewa and 100 % on a manipulated shit-on-a-stick 3rd division pitch. So it's 95 % game. But who knows.
