I know something that is going to cheer you up. You know which confederations are available to host WC 2038? You know why FIFA organised the bullshit WC 2030 in 3 continents? Let me tell you, the only confederations who can host the WC 2038 are Oceania and ta-da NORTH AMERICA.

Shameless FIFA but it's looking very likely that USA hosts again in only 12 years.

FIFA is hoping that CWC will be exclusively in USA in the future even when it was supposed to replace confederation cup as an experimental tournament for the WC host.

USA = money, they will try everything to increase their market share there.
 
FIFA are DESPERATE for soccer to finally conquer the lucrative American market.

They have tried and tried but it'll never be as mainstream in America as they want it to be. If World Cups can't do the trick, nothing will.

Ofcourse they'll still make record revenue this time so it's already a financial success for them regardless.
 
It's big money. FIFA expect to double the revenue from Qatar 2022. The empty stadiums curse didn't happen. As long as there are maniacs willing to pay 2000$ p/game to see their motherland crash out in the group stage.

AFAIK it was mostly sold out long before that 2K valuations which is more of a resale from some corporats. The hotels are the ones fairly suffering, but that doesn't bother FIFA much.

USA has enough immigrants from everywhere to fill the seats for most part anyway. Anyone who was hoping for empty stadium was ignorant.

It became fairly mainstream now, just not as the top 4 Sports, although they could eventually get close to NHL who isn't that popular outside of the Northern areas iirc.

One of the main issues is commercials, which is US media bread and butter, football doesn't allow it so they hate it and don't promite it equally, however the "cooling" break might give them a bit of Leeway to do it. Even when they play a game January for Minnesota United.

FIFA have their official black market section labelled "ticket resale". The price gets inflated and FIFA taxes both parties (seller & buyer) 15% of the resale price. Absolute gold.
