Cristian "Cuti" Romero

If that is a red then current kamikaze Gavi who goes sliding with his knee forward or even his head down into all sorts of dangerous clashes, would actually start being of real use for us.

The Kang in Lee challenge can be given as a red though. This one no chance.

Also think Lee challenge could be red. He was just lucky Valverde didn't make a big deal out of it.

Romero I don't think is a red even if it looks dangerous. Jude comes flying in, Romero plays the pass and happens to step on Jude's knee. It's reckless from Jude even if he's the one on the receiving end.

Atletico have conceded 7 goals in La Liga.

Romero has only been on the pitch for one of them.

No excuses.

If the guy playing next to Pau lets us down later on in the season, then questions need to be asked.

Flick and all.

Watching the extended highlights of the Argentina game.

How did our staff make this guy slip to atleti for peanuts.

He would look worse in some regards due to our highline, but which defender doesn't under flick ball.

When we need a defender to step up he's very likely to do it.

Yeah I agree - counting on the Dane was idiotic, since he arrived he's been injured more than able to play.
Romero would have been more than decent, would start with Cuba for sure.

They exhausted the salary margin on attackers. We'll see if they were right or we pay the price again.

They said we need to sell in January to sign a CB so it makes sense if we weren't in for Cuti because of this. It would be idiotic to turn down a move for him otherwise.

I think we were good, wasn't a FFP thing - Flick counted on Cuba, Martin, the Dane and Garcia - which imo wasn't a good decision.
Sure, ideally we'd let both Kounde and Balde go and sign a world class partner for Cuba and a good cheap RB backup. But this is real life and no FM manager - Kounde would be hard to shake with his wage and the quality he showed last season. But we should have at least signed another decent CB, left footed or not...

We definitely has the margin to sign a CB.
We just need prioritize the position and flick wanted a very specific profile of player.

Personally I don't think a CB would make a difference unless flick makes adjustments late in games.

But cuti is significantly better than martin, left foot be damned and he was very cheap.

That was a lay up signing if we actually wanted to sign a CB.
