Deco

Mbappe was good until France needed production on the field, then he gave them nothing.

Olisie was good until France needed production on the field, then he gave them nothing.

I could go on and on.

Mind you, Kounde was one of only two French players the French media and fans said came out of Spain with a bit of respect.

I'm not a Frenkie fan, but what was the club going to do when they wanted him out and he refused to leave?

Get over it. Everyone at the club rates Kounde; one off-season isn't going to change that.

If a big enough offer comes along, they will look at it. it.

Imagine comparing Mabappe and Olise to Kounde lol. Both of them had great seasons and great world cup until that Spain game.
Kounde was just serviceable as France never needed him to defend like we did last year where he was horrendous. and they didn't need his attacking presence as they had an insane front four. he was just there. The Spain game was where he could've stepped up and he didn't. he's a nothing player currently

Your whole argument is based on how you want the team to operate.
But Deco job is based on how Flick wants us to operate.
If he rates Kounde, along the Sporting Debartment, then he isn't for sale.
Kounde had one bad season, that happened after a year that he was the most overplayed player in Europe. Blaming the SD for that shows naivety

At least he looks happy and chubby. :benitez:

If Flick really rates Kounde and doesn't seek alternatives, it's bad look on Flick. This stoner is slow, error prone, almost useless as attacking fullback and has said himself that is apathetic towards football lately. Worst kind of FB for flickball. Could be still solid for more conservative team, if he even wants to play anymore.

Is this top sporting director in the room wiht us?

Real just missed a 20m signing last year and spend 130m now. Liverpool - if you can believe @Temptation and @Birdy - had the biggest genius sporting director of all time and look how that turned out  Bayern fans are constantly complaining as well. City & PSG just use their fuck off money.

I would argue from the top teams we did the best job with the limited resources we had...

Liverpool had the best SD in Edwards from 2015 to 2022, when he left.
Pound for pound the best transfers in the history of the sport, hands down

What Liverpool are doing since 2024 (with Richard Hughes, and not Edwards, being the SD), is a different question, and the jury in not out yet

Pau was sold for 12M, Fati for 11M, Julián Araujo for 10M, Faye for 10M, Nico González for total of 21M (sale and percentage of future sales) in those 3 years. Dembele too if you are going to count the entire 2023 summer on him.

The question remains, who was he supposed to sell for big money, had buyers lining up, and Deco fumbled the negotiations?

Wow what's that? 60 mil in 3 years for a club like ours? That doesn't even cover his vacations during this time.

Kounde, Casado, Araujo, Balde, Roony are all sellable and we could replace and improve on them and still had money left if we had a SD. Nobody forced him to renew FDJ which would free a lot of FFP too.

This guy couldn't sell water in a desert. Absolutely horrible transfer window so far. Casado is still here, we loaned Mats to Ajax while still paying 90% of his salary, we have at least two completely useless CB's and Cancelo is still training alone in Portugal. Furthermore, we didn't sign no CB, no fullback and striker is not even on a horizon. The fuck is this clown even doing?

Edwards recently resigned. Maybe we should look to replace Deco with a true sporting director.

If he's unable to sign a proper replacement for Lewandowski or a CB then he's failed this summer.

It's as simple as that IMO.

Need to get a #9 or a starting CB alongside Cubarsi. One of those positions for sure and obviously ideally the #9.

Cancelo, a LW, a LCB, a ST & another Fullback.

At the end of last season, these were the requirements. He has only got 1 from them.

Chop chop, anything short will be a failure to me.

A director of his caliber would never tolerate to go to a circus where he has to deal with teenagers in the body of 60yr olds, like Laporta.
Guy wants total control and total professionalism. And he is demanding AF
He resigned from Pool because they did not buy the 2nd club they promised so he could build his idea of multi-club network

And last season Hughes was in the Edwards role. Not Edwards himself.

This thread hella silent now

Wat happened guys? Did we maybe sign 2026 World Cup, 2024 Euro MVP and 2024 ballon d'or? And snatch him from Madrid at that?
