Can sometimes be the right strategy, if good options are not that open and clear for now, instead of buying just for the sake of buying. The window is still 2 months open and we don't have an unlimited budget.
Bartomeu should definitely have considered that. Even if most muppets jump from dopamine to drame daily, the evaluation of the transfer window will be September 1st.

On a more serious note, after checking online, it looks like he still hasn’t officially renewed his contract, which apparently expired yesterday. So maybe there’s still hope after all.

The work for the last season (financially speaking) was done with Gordon's transfer and he took a few weeks off, before the new season (today) starts officially. A completely normal schedule, nothing out of the ordinary. People see criticism and drama, because they want to see it.

I mean, Fati and Christensen being announced around the end and start of fiscal year for clubs is surely not a coincidence. They wanted those dates, Fati sr is probably saying bs or was told this as just a bs excuse.
