Futbol Club Barcelona won its 2nd European Cup against Arsenal in the Stade de France in Paris. It was Barcelona's first European Cup final in 12 years and despite a bad start with Barcelona going down 0-1 despite having 10 men in the 37th minute. But after bringing on Andres Iniesta and Henrik Larsson, Barcelona managed to come back from 0-1 down to win 2-1 with goals from Eto'o in the 76th minute and Belletti in the 80th minute. These goals helped Barcelona win their 2nd European Cup and their 1st in 14 years. This victory helped propel Barcelona's dominance in Europe in the ensuing decade that ended up with Barcelona winning 4 European Cups in 10 years between 2005 and 2015.

Futbol Club Barcelona defeats its demons and wins the European Cup for the first time in its history. 20th May 1992, it was a bright day in London. Barcelona is going to play their first European Cup final since the disaster of Bern just 6 years prior. The pressure was high for the players as the club had already played 2 European Cup finals prior to this one, they had lost both. 1961 against Benfica and 1986 against Steaua, in both games, Barcelona was the clear favourite to lift the trophy. One message told to the players by Johan Cruyff, ''Salid y disfrutad'' (''Go out and enjoy it'') and they sure did. 112th minute and Ronald Koeman is standing over a free kick, he strikes it and as they say the rest is history.

From 1998/1999. Remember it cause I have that shirt.

Shame we missed out on European title with that team.
They hated Van Gaal too much and the press clearly kicked him out of the club cause he wasn’t Cruyff. Shame we didn’t do much in 1999-2000, there were expectations for the treble but we got obliterated in every single trophy we participated in. 45 goals in 1 UCL season which was the most in the history of the European Cup yet not even a final to show for it.

Futbol Club Barcelona won its 5th European Cup and its 4th European Cup in 10 years. This victory signified the end of Barcelona's golden era in Europe that lasted between 2005 and 2015, where Barcelona won 4 UCLs and reached 8 UCL semi finals. A victory against Juventus also made Barcelona the joint 3rd most successful club in the history of the UCL, joining Liverpool and Bayern Munich with 5 titles. After this victory, Barcelona has underachieved greatly in the Champions League, where they managed to reach 2 UCL semi finals, 6 UCL quarter finals, 1 UCL round of 16 and 2 UCL group stage exits in the 11 seasons after their 5th European Cup title. The real question now is, when will Barcelona win the European Cup again?

You are a God. Where do you get these numbers?

Bro calm down don't say that.

In regards to the numbers, I remember this numbers as I researched extensively about Barcelona during my free time. I also managed to watch every European Cup final from 1988 to 2026.
Are you religious? I didnt mean to offend anyone. I am an atheist. Just wanted to congratulate you.

I absolutely love facts like these.

All we need is a repeat of this trio. Three insane footballers complementing each other in a good way. Rapha-Lewa-Yamal was close but not that level and Lewa was old and washed.

Man only if we had this trio during the peak of Xavi-Iniesta-Busquets, no doubt in my mind if we had them against Inter and Chelsea in 2010 and 2012 respectively, we would've won them and won the UCL in both years.

We could also build like a typical club without exclusively linking our success in the CL to historic teams or attacking tridents. Like normal clubs do.

Worth a try.
I agree with you but it is also kind of harsh in a way. Every successful side in the UCL is linked to a specific era or a historic team. Milan has the 1988-96 period with Maldini and Co, winning a total of 3 out of 8 European Cups. Bayern, the most consistent UCL team of all apparently, managed to win half of theirs from that legendary 3peat under that legendary team between 1974 and 1976. Liverpool, they won 4 of their 6 UCLs between 1976 and 1984. Madrid, the kings of this competition, managed to win 12 of their 15 UCLs, under two 11 year periods where they won 6 European Cups. There's nothing wrong with the way we won ours, it has to be said that no one dominated the UCL like we did until Madrid decided to surpass our 4 in 10 years by winning 6 in 11 years.

I think you misunderstood me. Nothing wrong with how we won ours, but having a historic side shouldn’t be the only way to win it. If we waited for the next MSN it might take a while.

Unfortunately, that's the only way we win the UCL. We only win it when all the circumstances allow for it and I'd say the only time where we were somewhat fortunate was in 1992, a few seconds away from getting knocked out at Kaiserslautern until Bakero scores in the 90th minute to take us through to the group stages. Oh yeah also 2009, Iniesta's late winner at Stamford Bridge in a game where we were stopped by the defence of Chelsea.

Koeman was insane, despite being a defender/sweeper he has more goals than many strikers. Deadly on set pieces and one the best penalty takers ever I believe. Over 90% of penalties scored out of like 60-70 taken. That goal against Sampdoria could be the most important goal scored in Barca's history.
