To win La Liga Flick needs a proper number 9, defense wise he is good enough for LL. For me the light weights in midfield like Pedri, Gavi, Casado and lazy boy FdJ are a bigger defensive liability than Cubarsi or Martin.
No team plays a whole midfield full of people that can be pushed aside beside Barcelona for 10 years now. Our midfielders have no ability to win headers, physical duels, cover passing lanes or recover a ball vs fast players or get the upper hand in a game where the ref lets the opposition bully our midfield and players (Inter last goal was a series of hard duels for the ball and the ref was meh).
Gavi is a beast for his size, but he is not Seedorf, Makele or Casemiro. The closest we have is Bernal who missed virtually the whole season and is untested in UCL.
PSG has Vitinha some will argue, but he is flanked by atletic players on all sides. Add 3 or 4 Vitinha into PSG and the cracks will start to apear.
LL is the only objective Barcelona should have while in crypling debt being the club that was stopped for 3 decades to compete with Real. After you have more LL than Real it's a good platform to get some respect in UEFA, an argument for the "biggest club" claim that works on the superficial mobs that watch the game. Not even 30 UCL will take away the pain of having Barcelona with more LL than a castilian club.
UCL is another animal that requires big investment every year, considering Barcelona has no federation to defend their interests and never won UCL while being the under dog or a worse team. On the contrary Barcelona has a federation ruled by Atletico and Real fans that will rather see Gibraltar win UCL than any catalan or basque team, a hostile media, so more than not that 15% or 50% ref bias will go against Barcelona in the big games. Trying to outcompete or outwin Real and oil clubs in UCL while being a minority club in full recovery after decades of being a small club in the eyes of Europeans was the main reason Barcelona overspent. Probably the media entanglement with Kane and the failure in UCL that was transformed in a drama convinced our geniuses that a new PR stunt is needed on the market. In my opinion we should scrap LL and pay debts not compete oil or Real in a competition we have no representation whatsoever and we are seen as ungrateful new comers even by Germans, Italians and English who attack us more than Real. (In politics every time there is a hegemon they need to convince the second place that the third place wants their spot and that is enough to keep them busy, happens now in EU, happened in the past with Greeks fighting for the second place).
