João Pedro

I don't understand why our scouts and Deco doesn't look for this type of players before a move to a rich club? I mean we used to get the bigest stars so no problem but this type of players should be scouted before. Why would Chelsea sell bellow 100mil?
I understand what you want to say. But in Deco's defense, before a player proves himself in a big club it's always a high risk move. In our position, we can't afford to spend big money on flops. While Pedro was already showing great stuff at Brighton, he proved himself at the CWC as a player.

That's not a good argument. Even a nutless monkey can sign established stars that everyone knows if they can throw cash at it. Size of our club, Hansi Flick, the success in recent years will take care of the rest by default almost.

But it's not yet the time to point fingers at Deco, since we can't afford to sign even 60m players from mid table EPL sides. We did get Raphinha when funds were available.

Exactly, obviously it will take some time to sort out our finances, therefore we must target does "unestablished" players before they move to a big club. What's the point of chasing, for example, Halland if we don't have even money for his salary? Of course it is a risk but that is why we have scouts and Deco, it is their job to find suitable transfers. It is easy to be scout in, for example, PSG: I need left back, who do you want? That is the only question you need to answer. Pedro is exactly this kind of guy (just to add never watched him so I am not talking about his ability or lack of it) but he is obviously good but not superstar, Brighton got him for 35 mils and now we want him for 100?

So this rumour will be recycled for few weeks until inevitable too expensive thing kicks in.

I guess they have to write about something.

There's no point even discussing this because Chelsea will not sell.

If we want him it's 100m bare minimum if we are lucky.

They have no reason to. They've already spent a lot of money in gambles and they won't sell a player who has paid off for them and will be part of the long term project.

100m is not such a huge fee anymore for a striker. In the past when you heard 100m you thought of a super elite forward, but since state clubs joined the party the shock factor has disappeared almost completely. There are teams out there with huge money who splash 80m on nobodies.

The question is not if you splash 100m or not, you have to, the question is on who. Make the investment count.

Only way could see it happening is if for example Xabi took over at Chelsea and favoured a bigger striker like Osihmen and Chelsea can flip some profit on deals for FFP this summer.

Other than that he is about last player could see them cashing in on along with Caicedo.

More likely Joao renews if anything would be my guess as a statement.

Yeah I agree, we can't seriously look into him if Chealse want anywhere near 100m. I wouldn't want us to buy him even if we got him for 60m tbh. Market for 9's is so inflated because there are none that are good enough - wtf happened that there are almost no proper 9's in 2026???

It's been reported everywhere reliable that Chelsea consider him key player for the project and they don't want to sell.

But at the same time, they might be forced to sell if they fail to get Europe, which right now looks very very likely

I don't see Alonso selling Joao; he has been really good, and they have no reason to sell.

If they were to sell, it would be 100m plus, and I don't know if we can get him then

Fuck is wrong with Ancelotti

He is far and away Brazil's best striker at the moment. How the hell is he not called up

Could this maybe give us some advantage in negotiations though?

He's not even good enough to make his national team but sure, lets spend big money to make him our starting striker
