Others would say that would be expected but Laporta goes with the flow and the Catalan independence movement seems to be getting weaker each year since 2017 or whenever there were those riots and referendum.

He's right. But he can't dance to AM. 100m fixed is the limit. Or walk. He didn't progress much at AM and he's not 22 anymore.

I see no reason to pay even 30% more over what they paid to City. We're getting a player that is 3 years older and in a slump form wise.

I find it being silly that's its gone so long anyway.

Multiple teams have signed players even during the World Cup, even players that went deep into the WC.

If Atletico are holding out on July 20th then what are the chances they suddenly will change their mind within the next week? Alvarez even said publicly he want to leave and they didn't care.

Just move on.
 
The fact we are waiting for Alvarez so long makes me think we plan to neglect the defense for one more year to get new shiny attackers for Flick to work with.

You add 2 by 2 together and the conclusion is we don't plan to seriously address the defense.

We signed 2 forwards and here we are hellbent of getting the 3rd. While we plan on attacking CL with Martin, Araujo the bum, and the forever injured Dane.

One more year of CL underachievement is gonna be the logical penalty.

After the cup was won, with Laporta's help reinforcing the conspiracy, the crying and forcing a cage on the Argentines I think I can't follow our club anymore in any meaningful way. I am old enough and I feel betrayed to the core and I don't want to spoil the new Spanish identity of Barcelona and the happiness of the young generation to find new idols and enjoy the game in his modern form and understanding. I will still visit the city and collect their stuff, but that will be it for me.

The old haters of Barcelona got all the credit and spotlight, including the propaganda machine who got finally validated on superficial stats and by the win. Imagine seeing them for decades, all your life doing it to Barcelona, then in your old age your club joining them to get some spotlight over your biggest player in history and a team from a poor country that has no means to defend their image.

It was the first time and the last time Madrid will value your "values". They don't believe they are their values or the values of champions, but after they saw what Argentina can do to England, they knew Spain can't beat them on field. Argentines are a unit, they are serial winners, they are a bunch of boys playing their hearts out to make a poor country happy, with Messi and Lautaro that can always sting you. So Madrid acted like victims using this politician to neutralize their greatest asset, freedom to enjoy playing.

We must be realists, Argentina with an injured core, limping cast, having their main midfielders booked or eliminated and sporting a 39 years old was 3 times centimeters from scoring in the last 10 min vs "a total dominant team".
If any of those enters Argentina wins on penalties and is probably the biggest fuck off in the history of football.

And all the talk about them being dirty is just nonse to me.
From my experience being a fan of beautiful football, dirty football is not manly football, or Puyol, Gerard will be way more dirty than Pepe or Hierro.
Dirty football is to use little to no intensity to try to injure players. A soft hit here and there into sensitive areas, a soft collision where you aim for ligaments, soft muscles, joints, maybe you pretend you don't see where you step, where you fall etc. Dirty football means to do all of that and next, when you get manly challenged for the ball to cry like it killed you time and time again until the refs books all of them, you fragment their play and you normalized using your studs in the eyes of the casuals.

And to end this, nobody got any meaningful spot light besides Cubarsi for like a few minutes. Ferran was not even mentioned by pundits, Yamal had a quiet game, Pedri Potter neither. It was more about how subhumans are the Argentines and they finally lost and fuck all Messi let's give the MVP to Rodri and Europe after those pesky gauchos managed to frustrate us for 4 years while we invest billions. "They have no diversity, they are monsters" etc.

As an old fan I feel that we got a beautiful picture for the museum with our boys at the cost of validating their whole propaganda machine and their influence in UEFA, a ref that robbed us in our lowest moment. I would have enjoyed their meltdown against Argentina, the loss of Argentina to a more fluid team, if our club was not part of it and the ref didn't came with a mission to impose himself

You think Argentina deserved to win? There was some injustice involved?
 
Honestly if anything Argentina were lucky. The referee was quite lenient all things considered despite what guys like Aymeric Laporte said pre-game.

Paredes should have gotten his second yellow like half a dozen times. A lot of the Argentine players simply lost their mind. If they weren't dumb as bricks they could have at least taken it to a penalty shootout. Not only couldn't they get Messi the ball in a decent area of the pitch, but they were unable to keep their composure.

All that dramatic wall of text is a wild overreaction.
 
Let's not compare the football Madrid played in those CL wins with the Argentina performance from last night. Sure, they had their share of luck and many decision going their way, but they generally played good football.

Argentina was beyond pathethic. Their cojones manifested in every way on that football field last night, except playing football.

We need to at least reach the UCL final this season. If we don’t reach it, it would be the longest drought without a UCL final since the 25 years between 1961 and 1986.
 
The more I think about what he said, the more angry it makes me.

They are not celebrating in Barcelona tonight, Juan. They are celebrating in Madrid. And I can assure that everyone that is celebrating there has a heart full of hatred for our club.

By mentioning the referee you carried the Real Madrid rats' baton for them, and though you may have vested interests this time, know this and know it well, they are going to use that same baton to beat you and our club with in approximately 1 month time.

The social media campaign against Argentina will turn straight back to us and you will not have a friend left to defend you, or the club. I certainly won't.

I'm all for different perspectives and obscure opinions but crying about some random Catalan's mild pre match opinion ("if the referee asserts himself Spain will have better chances in the final") as the main reason why Argentina didn't muster a single shot on target in 90 minutes (WC record), is some next level delusion.

If the refereeing standards of Argentina games in this WC were regularly applied in La Liga and especially in Barca vs. Getafe or Barca vs. Atletico games, ya'll would be the first to cry about refs.
