La Liga 25/26

Poor Girona.

Well, they played with no urgency in 1st half yesterday. Bit better in 2nd and also unlucky with that Lemar shot but overall just didn't show enough in a must win game.

They also missed too many chances in previous two games especially against Sociedad where they should have won and also vs Atleti.

Alaves would have been relegated if we weren't complacent against them.
Hopefully, next year will be the one.

Why don't you like Alaves?

Why don't you like Alaves?

I don't hate them, but I don't think they offer much in comparison to other clubs. Same for Levante, despite couple of talents they used this year (Espi and Young). Even Elche was more exciting this year and they are rarely exciting.

With Racing back, and hopefully Deportivo, both who have some nice talents, I feel that Alaves cycle should be over.

Girona played a good style of football and tried to be positive even against the top teams, so even if they are City group, they were a positive for Spanish football.

They have gone down because their team weakened and they didn't find replacements that would concretise a 3rd placed finish and keep that going. A club that comes 3rd in Spain should be able to add good, young players for the next season.

But they are playing 37 year old Witsel, Bryan Gil, Ivan Martin, these are just regular LaLiga players who would just as easily have been playing for Elche, Alaves, Mallorca etc.

Is that the expected recruitment of a team that sustained a title challenge for half a season and ended up finishing above Atletico?

Promotion playoffs semi-finals

Castellón-Almería Sábado 6 (21:00)

Las Palmas-Málaga Domingo 7 (21:00)

Almería-Castellón Martes 9 (21:00)

Málaga-Las Palmas Miércoles 10 (21:00)

Final:

1st leg: Domingo 14 (21:00)

2nd leg: Sábado 20 (21:00)

Would like to see either Malaga or Castellon in La Liga.

Depor, Racing and Malaga would back would be very positive for LL, we need more big clubs with big fan bases.

La Liga should be a lot more competitive next season for the obvious factor of Madrid spending big (again!) but mainly due to coaching changes at Villarreal and bilboa.

Two coaches who I think want to compete instead of what was happening with both clubs last season.

Atleti will continue to suck under simeone, nothing will change there, but 4 more competitive games for us and Madrid at the very least.

Yep. Mourinho maybe won't do something with Madrid in Europe but in league he surely knows how to grind a lot of points.

But we should also be much stronger in the league if we get a striker.

So, last promotion slot is 1 game away.

Malaga beat Las Palmas, Almeria won over Castellon.

Malaga and Almeria draw 0-0 in first game.
Last game will be on Saturday, on Almeria's home ground.
