One of the most memorable summer of Barca transfers. Fantastic headlines of building a 2nd dream team under Bobby Robson. Few of those stories made their ways to printed press in my Croatia too. Just what a 16 y.o. Barca fan needed.
Ronaldo, Giovanni, Pizzi, Stoichkov, Baia, Couto, Blanc. And Lucho, of course.
Don't think we ever signed so many great players in such a short span of time.

Yeah, that was a wild summer. I used to commute to a bigger city, where a tiny news kiosk sold Sport and El Mundo Deportivo. I read what I could on the train back home using a dictionary. Was a completely different world back then...

I was super fucking hyped for especially Lucho and Ronaldo, but Giovanni also, as he was being lauded as the next big thing coming out of Brazil. I was also really glad to see Stoichkov back, even though I recall not having too high hopes for him.
In hindsight, it's wild that only 1 of those signings that summer can now be considered a long time succes at Barca.
