Michael Olise

223m euro decent :troll:

I'm all for RM going all in for him. The galactico philosophy didn't work back then, nor will it work now. Will be entertaining to see the egos battling it out tho.

Remember, we are holding this guy to same standards as Yamal from now on

No he was not decent
We're holding them both to the same standard. Yamal hasn't been as good as Olise in the tournament so far.
They've still got more games, so we'll see how it eventually goes

He doesn't really play with ego and can hold his own if it gets dirty, right from when he was in Crystal Palace, France, or Bayern. He'll definitely improve Madrid if they sign him, but Bayern has to sell first

Yamal has been criticized for his performnaces so far. Probably far more than anybody else would have been

I have not said Olise's tournament is shit. I have said his game vs Paraguay was shit. Which is absolutely true if you do hold him to same standards as Yamal. Because it was not in any way better than Yamal's performance against Austria, which was criticized by almost everyone

A 223m euro improvement?

Anyhow, it won't be easy for him having to meet the expectations of the most expensive player in football history.

Yeah, Olise's performance against Paraguay was shit, and Yamal has been criticized more cause he has more bad games and hasn't found his spark yet.

He has 1 g/a in this World Cup so far, and Olise has 5. If Mbappe has 1 g/a in the world cup, he'll definitely be criticized, so it's not a Yamal thing.

What are you talking about and what I am talking about?

I didn't say anything about the tournament. I said his game was shit. Other people said it was decent. There is no chance it was decent if we judge him on Yamal standards.

Was Yamal shit against Austria?

Really interesting profiles on player on YT. Le Parisien and L'Equipe has a couple really good ones in last week that give you insights into player

I have to say, I am hooked on player - my favorite non-Barça footballer. His ceiling is extremely high when I believe he is already in the most elite category of footballers on planet. The difference, mentality. Gotta also give him credit for opting for Les Bleus when he isn't French or that he can barely speak the language. Says it was due to his mother and love of Zidane and others during his adolescence

I also wonder if he's not just introverted but on the spectrum - shows a lot of S&S of autism while very level headed and intelligent. A unicorn in today's game IMHO who came virtually out of nowhere to explode onto the scene. It's not an anomaly, absolutely fearless

24 y.o., yet to peak or hit his prime - I think he is the only other player that can challenge Lamine for BdO going forward

Could he arrive at Barça? Would love it but would be predicated on player and I don't think he's ever professed a blaugrana dream despite being complimentary of Yamal. Regrettably, due to Zizou connection I could see RM a future destination as I do not believe he will remain at Bayern long-term

We dont have a position for him to play in anyways.

There are still years to go if Yamal ever adapts into a new role, I dont see it ever happening, but lets say for the sake of it.
And as a CAM, Olise isnt really suited to it. He might do well for France, since they haven't met any formidable opponent yet and the personnel they have masks this weakness, but it can't happen in club football.

Well, I think what we see also is that while Olise plays RW at Bayern he is essentially playing as a 10 for Les Bleus - same path that is inevitable for Lamine and I don't believe they would be unable to play together - there is no doubt they could be complimentary together. He is not a player that demands anything

Question of whether player is interested in Barça much harder to gauge - I have read his future aspirations are far more likely to involve playing in Primera Liga than a return to EPL

Maybe not next summer but 2028, he would be a fantastic target

Finally a below average performance from him. He doesn’t posses Yamal’s skills in dribbling but he is still an elite passer and decision maker. He and Yamal occupies the same position and there is no way we can afford him. In no universe, should his move to RM allowed. In none. He is a tremendous worker off the ball. Imagine a midfield of him, Bellingham, Tchoumieni and Guler feeding Mbappe and Vini upfront. This can’t happen and shouldn’t even be entertained by Bayern Munich.

He's adlibbing with Dembele and they both transition depending on who is where for France. Although Dembele is formation wise the RW and Olise the AMC. Lamine is a higher IQ player than Dembele so there is zero doubt Lamine and Olise could do it. In fact, it would be an excellent move especially if you could drop 60/80m with an Olmo sale.

I don't see it happening because we don't seem to do those type of moves, and Florentino until he drops seems adamant on signing everyone we want and paying them double under the table- basketball or football. So it's hard to compete transfer wise.

That and we have LaMasia and the club will probably find a solution there from Tunky or Moreno.

We do these kind of transfers. We have done just in the recent past like Coutinho and Griezzman infact. But I think he and Yamal occupies the same position most of the times. Club doesn’t have finance to bring him anyway atm. Would feel so great to bring him. I don’t think he is in Griezmann/Coutinho category of AM. I do believe he has a capacity to play as an elite 8. He works off the ball tremendously. Sprays the passes, remains in the middle of the pitch and only occupy wings/second striker position when the whole team presses higher up the pitch. I can see him fulfilling Iniesta role infact. Has almost the same profiiea imo except for dribbling.

What can I say, it’d be the dream signing after the Nico one that died. Something really special about Olise and I don’t believe we’ve seen his best at all yet

One thing that's clearly underrated about Olise is his work rate, both offensively and defensively. He's an absolute physical monster. Fitness testing showed he has the highest VO₂ max in the France squad (alongside Malo Gusto), and he's also the player who has covered the most distance since the start of the tournament.

I have been saying that he can play the 8 role of Iniesta very easily thanks to his work rate. Every game of him, I have seen him come down to help the pivot, win balls through slide tackles and press like Rapha. He is like Bellingham without the goals but with better passing and vision and knows how to play a proper midfield role
