I liked this guy Summerville very much by next WC he could be something. And there is probably someone in the academies too. Surely Dutch will produce a good forward after so many years
If they don't Pep can play midfielders on the wing. Nothing strange for him
I don't see it tbh.
They have good CB group, but then VVD is 35, so even him playing the Euros are questionable, Ake is 31, so next WC is also questionable., Hecke is decent, De Ven is overrated. So, that group will be average by next WC.
Dumfries is their only good RB, and he is 30 and started to show his age last season.
Maybe Hato and Timber comes good and make them a decent defense.
Midfield has Frenkie and Gravenberch, I am not sure the later is Pep's guy, but that's their only decent line. Attack is absolute trash. They haven't produced a class attacker since Robben/Persie generation. And that was playing football years before the likes of Lamine or Diomande were born.
I just don't see it with them. They have been actually one of the most overachievers for long. Reaching WC final in 2010, 3rd place 2014. They have only lost 1 KO game in 90 minutes this century, and that was 2006.
People can complain about Koeman, he is an easy guy to hate. But they played a team with a stronger squad who is 6th in FIFA rankings, after topping their group, and lost on penalties. Their squad is far bigger problem than their coach.
Pep is a bad fit, he isn't a guy to coach a NT with his style, nor he is a guy to coach a team that is underdog.
If he wants a NT job, Spain is the perfect one if DLF failed this WC.
