Ousmane Dembélé

When he has a system that suits him he is no 1 bar none. See France NT. Plus I believe his problems are on the mental side, won too much too early and PSG also licked his balls.

Dembele also started playing when he had a great team that suited his play style.

While Dembele has his genius moments, he isn't the kind of guy to win you games single handedly.

Kvaratshkelia is the best attacker PSG have. Most of the actions start with him.

The reason is his power. He bounces off defenders and eats up available space like a greasy soviet tank.

Looks to me the most problematic player to block in this side. Dembele and Doue will make a great action then barely hear their name for the next half an hour, but Kvara is like a piston.

He tormented Bayern in both legs.

That being said, the speed of Dembele makes him very dangerous even if he's not really in the game. Because PSG have several players who can bring the ball to him in good positions.

I tend to agree that we have to see more from Dembele elsewhere in order to put him ahead of Mbappe one day.

The ballon d'or means nothing tbh. Benzema has ballon d'or and he is not better than Suarez or Lewa who don't.

Dembele has a good chance to show something in this world cup. We will see.
It'll depend on context. For PSG, he'll most likely be ahead of Mbappe (man came with Ballon d'Or and their first UCL win, or them winning 6 cups in a season).

For Country, Mbappe definitely wins by far.

For Club (PSG), there's an interesting stat where you see most goal involvement for PSG in knockout rounds in UCL, and you've got Dembele with 19 g/a in 22 games, topping the list, and Mbappe with 17 g/a in 24 games. It's funny how Dembele started becoming clutch and having key goal contributions at critical moments.

The key thing he learnt was playing fully as a team, many thanks to Lucho, cause in a game like the second leg against Bayern, you could see Dembele defending cause they needed to all defend and he was tasked to follow Pavlovic (don't see an Mbappe doing that), he even got tired early from it and had to be subbed out. You won't get that from Mbappe, so all in all, PSG would most likely have Dembele higher

I know it's been said but it's boring how Ballon d'Or is so heavily based on collective titles. It's how Jorginho was even considered because he won CL+Euros. Just vote for the absolute best player on the planet. Not the biggest star of the team that won the most. Wonder who media will push if Arsenal win CL, and if England win WC? Saka? lol

Imagine telling someone in 2020 (or something like that) that Dembele will have a better career than Mbappe.

Yup, Kvara ran the show in the Bayern tie.

Dembele, just like last season, profits from being French and having a bit more talent. He pops in with a goal or assist, but you don't get this sense of him running the show.

He definitely ran the show last season TBH he was singing in that false 9 role.

This season krava has been better from what I've seen

Mbappe winning the league with Monaco(and he had a big contribution there) + winning WC at 19(he was man of the match vs Argentina which was the biggest challenge) + nearly soloing the 2022 WC >>> anything that Dembele did in his career.

Dembele WC, UCL, balondor, La liga
There is no comparison in terms of resume.

MBAPEE is a sidekick now.

Rodri winning is worse than jorinho being considered
They are already pushing DECLAN RICE
But we all knw PL players wont win Balondor. They suck.

That would be the most realistic but let's be honest here that would make it a little bit boring. Generational players like Dinho, Messi, Yamal would just spam the award every year. If it was about best itw Messi would win like 15 in a row

Maybe it would be better if they give seperate awards. One for best performing player, one for most achieved player.

There is no real fair way to do it.
I guess an mvp type thing like the NBA could work. But they have a regular season and play offs so it's different.

Only thing I have is when players when for what they did at the WC.

Cannavaro has one for Italy playing 10 men behind the ball and giving him endless projection for ffs

Ballon d'Or should be treated similar to the Oscars these days, i. e. nominating a movie about a Mexican tranny for 13 Oscars that no one has ever watched and generated whooping 16 million USD at the box office world wide.

Giving Ousmane level footballers Ballon d'Or is at the same level for me. Clear sign of general decline.

Ballon d'Or was never that important anyway until media and Fagnaldo turned it into a media circus in the 2010s.

Someone's gotta win it
I would have given it to Yamal. Who.do you think deserved it?

Don't care. Probably scrap it alltogether in a team sport and at most do it once every 4 years for the standout player of recent years, maybe split up into positions (AT, MF, DF).

Right now it's turning into a joke.

Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Pirlo, Kroos: no.
Modric: yes.

Henry, Eto'o, Suarez, Lewandowski, Neymar: no.
Démbéle: yes (possibly twice lmao)

You dont even have an answer in who should have won instead of dembele
In short you should stop talking
Or create your own award with your shitty idea

We already have world 11 in the same ceremony, which is basically what you are suggesting

Why should I have a definitive answer? I don't watch other teams, except few high profile games and highlights here and there. I don't know if for example Salah would have been more deserving last season. In my view, yeah, Yamal is probably the biggest talent and also won enough in recent years with big performances to justify winning a Ballon d'Or (EC win, CL semi standout performance, countless Clasico performances) but I'm biased as a Barca fan and I don't watch enough other games to clearly make a statement.

What I know, however, is that Ousmane is not the reason for PSG's success right now. That much should be clear.

Yes that part is clear. WE all know the reason for PSGs success . Luis Enrique.

Luis Enrique is not a player though.
