Look at these stats... he is averaging 3.1km run per game in the last ECQ campaign (not a joke). 3 kilometers. Per game. For reference, Mbappe, statistically the laziest forward in European football, averages 7.2km per game.

I've never seen such bad running stats, how is it even possible to only run 3 kilometers when playing for 70 or 80 minutes in a game? You have to literally not be moving other than for the ball.

This guy is literally a cone, the years add up and its not for no reason 41 year old players don't play top level football, he has totally lost it.

Playing any random forward from the top5 leagues is better than playing him.

The stats aren't available publicly for the MLS or Conmebol. So we can only see 2022, but there he was averaging around 8km per game (most of it walking). 7-8km a game is usually the absolute floor for an attacker.

How someone can even have 3km a game is unknown. Maybe there is an error in the statistic, because it is unbelievable.

Martinez needs to keep it as simple as possible. Him trying to coach a complicated system would backfire. Doesn't have the tactical acumen.

The positive is that in international football and especially in a WC in this weather, pressing becomes more secondary so veterans can still thrive unlike in club football.
