Maicon without the touch, technical ability, dribbling, shooting and ability to play as a fullback.

He has excelled mostly under the Inzaghi era as wingback in a back three, but been a liability for the NT and not proven that he is as effective in a back 4 as a flat FB.

I'm more concerned of Mourinho recovering the best of Konate, but even then, the frenchman always has a klanger in him.
 
How well Araujo did v Vini is over played.

He got skinned a fair but also and fairly sure was taken to cleaners by Vini more and more as games went on.

And now most Liverpool fans are indifferent to him leaving, while Madrid get him without much competition.

Concentration is a very important trait for Flick's defensive system, not to talk about ball-playing ability. Konate suits RM better than he suits Barca. He'll probably have same output as Rudiger which isn't bad but it's not prime Varane coming back to La Liga.

Dumfries is blessed with exceptional physical qualities but he has been poor lately. This is a typical Jose signing though. He can elevate him. At worst, he's a fantastic backup RB option.

If they get Hjulmand, it'll be a brilliant signing. He's a gem.

In the end it doesn't say much about a defender. Any winger can be pocketed. RM fans were buzzing about signing Carreras who locked down Yamal. Worked out for them.

Araujo is also quicker, stronger and a better defender than Martin. Doesn't say much either.

Konate is not a bad player but he's not the missing piece to our defence. He'll be a beast in some games for RM but he'll also be heavily exposed.
 
Had Barca signed Konate and Dumfries, you know certain users would shit on the transfers and call them bums.

In my defense, I look good when I lose weight but got none of the other stuff.
 
Smart moves by Madrid. Picking up Dumfries for cheap and Konate for next to nothing while we splash 80mil on Gordon with no defensive reinforcements in place yet.
