Not sure how credible but:
Bernardo Silva's "free" transfer will cost Real Madrid €100 million in commissions, taxes, and wages.
Breakdown of the deal:
€40 million signing package, distributed as follows:
€10 million net to the player
€5 million to his father
€5 million to his agent, Jorge Mendes
€20 million in taxes to be paid by Real Madrid to the Spanish treasury
In addition, Real Madrid will cover a total gross salary of €60 million over 3 seasons, if the optional third year in the player's contract is activated.
Bernardo Silva will earn around €10 million net per season, while the club will bear the remaining cost through taxes and financial charges.
So, while Real Madrid will not pay a transfer fee to Manchester City, they will still incur a massive overall cost to complete the deal.
