€85M + €15M maybe. Considering he reportedly cost them around €95 million with bonuses, I believe they won't and they can't go below that.

For 100m, Atletico will give us his signed boots this summer. His market price is around 120-150m, but because we're Atletico's direct competitor, they'll demand close to 200.
Not that it matters, because LL will never allow us to even spend 100.

We'll offer 75 + bonuses and hope that Alvarez will force Atletico to sell. And that's if Tebas allows it which is a big if.

I think they would accept an 120m bid very quickly. 150m? They will accept without thinking.

I like Alvarez, he's a cool player, and undoubtedly would improve our team, but he's not like a Haaland, he is more of a gadget player/second striker type, more of a forward than Griezmann was, but he still isn't really a 9.

I think that firstly we should be looking for a natural striker. Our system already creates lots of chances.

The second thing is that even if we play him in his best role which isn't guaranteed, he doesn't justify that price anyway. As mentioned, he's a great player, but his output is not on par with the elite forwards.

This season he only has 6 open play goals in the league. His CL record is of course much better and probably more indicative given he's been scoring against top teams. However even there his rate is good but not prolific.

He is the type of forward whose goal record is great (given his all around game). In other words, he is more of an all rounder without being specifically strong in any one area.

I see him as similar to Ferran Torres but more technical. We should be signing a forward who is a classic striker, that's what we need, we create a lot of chances, we need a striker who can play with their back to goal, provide an outlet and finish off plays.

First of all, they have zero incentive of selling him. That makes him already more expensive than his usual market price.

Secondly, who would they buy for this fee to increase their squad's strength? Because the only reason they would be willing to sell him is, if in return they get stronger, not weaker.

Third, they have no problems with the ffp, nor are they in need of fast cash injections. We on the other hand have problems.

Fourth, we're their direct competitor and they, and more importantly their fans hate us, which means to sell this possible sale to them, it must feel like they've cheated us, as it was with Griezmann back in the days for 150m, which will make him ridiculously overprized.

These are all arguments against.

PS: And why are we even discussing 100m+ pricetags, when we're barely registering 50m players. Even if we return back to 1:1 in the summer, it doesn't mean we can sign freely. It means we have to free up 100m first to register 100m.

Should we? Yes. Guy fits us like a glove and imagine having an actual threat from freekicks..
Will we? No fucking way.

This summer is going to go from chasing Alvarez to chasing Osimhen to starting next season with Ferran and a midtable LL ST as backup. Laporta will tell us Haaland next summer.

Even still Griezmann had more pedigree and was better numbers wise.

I'm not saying we should bid for him, I'm saying the opposite, I'm saying I wouldn't take him for 120m even if they accept that (which I feel they would, he, by reports, also would love to join us).

If we have that money to spend on a striker, I would much rather buy Osimhen for 100m.

Curious what Laporta taking over negotiations will mean, its been awhile since he's been in a position to land a big transfer target - at what cost will be the invariable question because I believe he could do it

Lewy even at 33 still came for 50M - Ferran going the other way might make it a win win

He's their asset tied down on a long-term contract. AM also paid a lot for him. Of course he'd cost us a fortune.

Hell no! He's no doubt a great player, but we're not in a position to pay +100m for anybody else than prime Messi... also, he's not even the profile we look for in a 9 in Flick's 4-2-3-1.
