For the amount of goals Alvarez has scored for Atleti then 100m for them would be good business.

Genuinely think Ferran would score more goals for them than Alvarez has.

For his price also have to factor in he could play the Raphinha left forward role in current system and also number 10.

Said this before but if after a year Barca lack focal point with him in box and Raph moves to Saudi or Olmo/Fermin move on will still be a role for him.

On top of that the price Barca would be willing to pay probably impacted by lack of alternatives if dont get him.
 
Standards have really dropped low these days. He's a great little player, but in the level of tying shoe laces of our past strikers. Making another Coutinho/Grease deal would be disaster even, if he turns out good addition.
 
I don't like it but I think that's what the market would demand for a player of his caliber, still with room to be more productive

Barça paid 50M for a 33 y.o. Lewy, 5 years ago - great return on the investment no? Imagine a younger player who has yet to peak at 26, with today's inflation? Plus, he's an ideal tactical fit for Flick

Agreed. Joao Pedro for instance would have a similar price tag being an inferior attacker.

I only have a sample size of one but I don't see a dangerous weapon for Flick's football in Pedro - still looks a very raw player

The plan as I understand is to sign a CB, so it is not Alvarez vs a CB. Don't think we will end the summer without a defender being signed, and a good one.

Should be at least 3 defenders imo. 1 CB, a RB to cover for or ideally start ahead of Kounde and a LB. Balde should be sold and Martin should play as backup.
 
I said no. Do some scouting, get the dude for 25m who'll be 100m next summer. We have Tuna + Gordon who can help him out. Now look for a CB and fullback...

That's a very good idea. Bet on some random and hope he turns out. If he doesn't we are left without a striker. Then shit on Deco for not bringing a big name
