Victor Osimhen

Various reports suggest he will move for around 100m in the summer.

Galatasaray's president said that he is not for sale, but I seriously doubt they are being honest. They paid a 75m transfer fee, and he is on a base salary of 15 million net per season, rising to 21 million after including image rights. There were rumours in February that they were behind on his wages, although this was publicly denied.

There is zero chance that they signed him intending to fulfil his entire contract until 2029. There is no way a club like Galatasaray can afford to carry that sort of contract and outlay over 4-5 seasons, especially given they have an already large wage budget with a number of very good players.

When they signed him they will 100% have planned a future sale within 1-2 years. That's the only way to make the numbers work for them, they will have costed his future sale at 80-100m or so within 2 seasons. He probably has a verbal agreement with them to leave also at some point if a fair offer is received.

That is to say, he will likely be on the market either this summer or next summer. Given the lack of top strikers available on the market we will not be the only team interested; Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG were in for him previously and might be again.

We should pursue him. I prefer him as an option to Alvarez, who is more of a second striker/hybrid in my view and isn't a classic 9. We have very creative wingers and midfielders to create chances and to build play, so we would benefit most from a classic 9 who scores, runs in behind and plays with his back to goal. Osimhen is fast, good in the air, presses very hard, and uses his body and frame to play with his back to goal and hold up the ball.

Question is can Barca afford such a transfer fee and also be capable of beating other clubs offers this summer?

His biggest issue is the fact he has been a nutcase so often with club and country while a big Barca strength is the harmony of the squad.

As someone who has CLOSELY followed his career since his U17 days, I don't know where the "nutcase" talk is coming from. He is not half the nutcase Suarez was and is. He is just very expressive and can be a little temperamental when he suffers mindless tackles. I can't recall him ever having any issues with his teammates apart from his recent on-field spat with Lookman, and JSYK, most of his countrymen supported his actions after the incident, because; For a couple of games, despite Osimhen, who is considered the main dangerman, being unselfish and providing 3 assists to Lookman, Lookman kept glory hunting, rather than putting the team first, leading to chances getting squandered, Osimhen just couldn't pretend anymore, seeing that the team's captain was being too much of a bitch to speak up.

If we "only" needed a #9... but we also need a CB and hopefully a RB that doesn't fuck up. After not being able to spend properly for almost a decade it seems I just can't see us splurging +90M on 1 player...
But sure if we sell Casado, Roony and one of Balde/Kounde - get Cancelo and Silva on a free and extend Rashy loan we might be able to splurge on a 9 and buy a decent CB and fullback.

BUT, that's many players to be sold and bought - very complex operation if we don't already have some pre-agreements in place.

If he doesn't get the move this summer it's absolutely insane. There is still no genuine interest

One of best strikers in the world playing in Turkey for 2 seasons in his prime is already crazy enough. But 3 seasons... oof

I remember Juve was interesed and they will push but returning to Serie A would probably be underwhelming for him

What's wrong with big PL clubs? Except City he clears every single one of their strikers by a big margin. I get his salary is big but they pay all kind of shit these days. Sometimes splash it on the right thing

Yes, the disrespect is crazy but unfortunately it seems to be par for the course for African players.
Yes, he's a little nuts but if he was from a major South American or European country he'd be at a big club for sure. Its not like he's a lazy prima Donna. He presses like a defender relentlessly. Decent technique and physical beast. He would be my number one choice. His hunger and attitude sort of remind me of Eto who I absolutely loved.

Obvious that nobody wants, because he's fucking retarded. That's pretty important for serious clubs. He'd be sidelined within weeks due to some antics.

So how come Eto'o (and many many more) played for the biggest clubs? They weren't rasist back then? Not signing a player that you don't want is disrespect?

I didn't say racist. I said the respect for black players from Africa isn't the same as players from major European or South American countries.

I don't agree. There are hunderds of black players in Europe, many of them being the best in the world playing for the best teams.

If anything, they're coddled and privileged on institutional level. Heinous murder of Henry Nowak happened because of that. It's the native whites, who are disrespected to the extreme. Victimus treatment on the other hand is on opposite spectrum. Whites get punished on the nogs word alone, no proof needed.

Other way around pal. White people think they own the world. Especially british white people. They think they royals but most are skanks.

Not really he didn't have much problems like that in Napoli or now in Galata

His behavior problems are overstated. He is greedy both with money and team related stuff but he is a hard worker and will do everything for the team

In the end, would he cook in Barca?
